"Sweetheart, as much as I love watching you, can you wake the kids up? The food is almost ready," Jake teased the woman in front of him, who didn't find his joke funny that morning. He was such a dad.

Tawn stopped her hand from cutting down a fruit, turned to Jake and pouted, "but I'm in the middle of cutting these fruits."

Jake nodded, "and I'm in the middle of cooking our breakfast," he shrugged casually.

Tawn squinted her eyes at the man in front of her. She knew he didn't want to be at the end of his children's crankiness, "no, you said so yourself. You are almost done, so go. I'll watch these so they don't burn," Tawn smiled sweetly. Her tone suggested Jake to not challenge her.

But Jake wasn't one to back down, "But you don't need the fruits until later, right?"

Tawn glared, "Jake stop being a wuss and go wake the kids," she warned.

Jake sighed. He knew he wasn't going to win this argument with her. One thing he discovered about Tawn was that she could be very persistent when needed, and she had her way of making someone confess. It was deadly but cute, "fine."

Tawn grinned at him victoriously. She knew she got Jake wrapped around her fingers. Let us hope he didn't notice that he got her in the palm of his hand.

Jake grumbled, pausing to bend down to kiss her cheek, and continued to grumble under his breath while waking up the kids.

Tawn giggled at her man. He was just so adorable. She continued cutting the fruit, dumping it into a bowl before checking their breakfast. When she noticed the food was done, she put them onto a big wooden plate and placed them beside the bowl of fruit.

"Tawnie!" Tuk greeted, plopping herself on her lap.

"Morning, my little girl. How did you sleep?" she smiled, brushing away a few tendrils from her face.

Tuk yawned and leaned on her chest.

"I slept great," Lo'ak chimed in, sitting down beside Tawn and grabbing his breakfast first.

Neteyam, Kiri and Jake joined the trio. Jake sat on her other side, greeting Tuk on her lap, "of course, she slept well. She kept you all to herself," Jake joked, grabbing breakfast for Tuk and Tawn.

Tawn grabbed their breakfast and gave Tuk hers, "yeah, well, she deserved my attention more than you," Tawn teased, grinning at her man.

"Believe me, the next time we're alone, you're going to give me all your attention," he smirked, forgetting that there were minors in the room and one sitting on her lap.

Tuk groaned at her father's behaviour. Neteyam, sitting beside his dad, looked horrified by what his father was insinuating. He couldn't believe he got to see his father acting like this again.

"Dad, ew," Kiri groaned, "I lost my appetite."

"Yeah, I lost my whole will to live. I think I just lost a decade of my life," Lo'ak sighed dramatically.

Tawn rolled her eyes at the teenager beside him, "stop being dramatic, Lo'ak. One dramatic man is enough in my life."

Jake smirked, his hand slithering on her waist, "yeah, but when I kiss your pretty mouth, who—"

"Okay, Jake, you are clearly not in the right headspace to be with our kids, so go away," Tawn scolded, pushing him away from her and Tuk and continuing to eat her breakfast, oblivious to the silence that blanketed the room.

"Tuk, you need to eat all of this. You don't want your food to cry, right?" Tawn smiled, scooping some food on her spoon and poking her mouth with it when she noticed she had stopped eating.
