Grian's Perspective-

Name: Grian Gotts
Age: 15
Grade: 10th grade starting next year
Time: June 19th

Grian looked over at his old friend's house.

Well, now it was his new friends.

Scar.

Grian smiled and blushed a bit as he thought about Scar.

He was so kind and funny.

He would do anything to make Grian happy.

Grian's heart fluttered a bit as he thought about how sweet and cute Scar was.

Just then there was a knock at his door, and he jumped.

"Come on sweetie, you gotta pack up." His mother said.

"You okay?" She asked when seeing Grian's shocked face.

"Yeah, you just caught me off guard. I was just...lost in my thoughts." Grian said, looking out the window again.

"About what? Is it the trip?"

Grian sighed and shrugged.

"I guess. It's for two weeks. And it's in Florida, the place that's warm. How am I supposed to wear my sweaters in warm weather?"

"It's called you don't." She said, a joking smile on his face.

"Who am I without my sweaters?!"

His mother giggled and patted his back, "You'll be fine."

"But what about Maui and Pearl? Two weeks without them!"

"Yes sweetie, but Scar's gonna be taking care of them so they'll be fine."

"But- but..."

His mother smiled softly as she walked up to her son.

She rubbed his back, and he sighed while looking out the window.

He wanted to spend his summer with Scar.

The entire summer.

Any time wasted might be a time where he could've confessed his love for Scar.

"You still miss him?"

Grian snapped back into reality.

"Who?" He asked.

His mother raised an eyebrow, "Mumbo, dear."

"Oh...I mean, I guess we weren't meant to be friends. We lost touch; we weren't meant to be."

His mother smiled fondly, "I remember you used to have the biggest crush on him."

Grian shook his head, "That was just a stupid childhood crush. Everyone's got those. But then Mumbo moved, and we lost touch and- "

"I know, I know, you stopped talking and grew apart."

"Exactly."

He and his mother fell into a bit of a silence before Grian's mother sighed.

"Come on sweetie. Your grandparents really wanna see you."

Grian smiled weakly at his mother.

"That's it." She said, patting his back and getting up.

"I'm gonna go help your father find a swimsuit.
I love you."

"Love you."

She left and Grian sighed as he got up.
