Merle brought us to some back area of an old-looking town. seemed like it had been deserted since the fall of the world. When we pulled up and stopped It wasn’t a second later that my door was yanked open then I was dragged from the truck.

"No!" I heard Glenn yell as I fought the attacker who was dragging me out of the truck

My arms were going to be bruised from the grip of the man and after I had managed to gain my balance back, the man threw me to the ground before they began to tie my hands behind my back. They were working fast to keep us in line and disoriented

“Maggie?!” I heard Glenn call out just faintly as my head pounded.

“Take them to the cells and make sure to keep them separate” I heard Merle order as I felt arms yank me back up to my feet where I was forced to look at him again. This time my hair had fallen in front of my face as I shot him a glare. The men shoved me forward to start me walking but Merle stepped in front of me to stop them. “Don’t I know you?” he asked me but I remained silent. He tilted his head at me and stepped closer and watched me hoping to see if I would crack even just a little bit

When I didn’t even do that he smiled and laughed a little at me then just waved us on through. Once inside he yanked me around like a ragdoll and moved quickly. I wasn’t able to make out anything useful of the area other than it could be some kind of basement or something. They pulled up a chair and shoved me to sit down so hard that I nearly tipped over in the chair. With me in my seat, they untied my hands then moved them to the armrests and pulled out some more rope and tied me up again. What a waste of rope if you ask me.

Now that I was in my chair and tied up they left me and locked the door behind them as an extra precaution.

“Okay think...got to get out of here” I whispered to myself to help with the rising anxiety in me as I looked around. Some random shelves here and there and just piles of junk along with the one large plastic table in front of me. They were trying to make it look like some kind of psychotic interrogation room or something. I looked at my ropes then leaned down and tried to use my teeth to loosen something in them when I heard the door click open. I sat up straight and tried to act normal as the door opened and Merle came in. He has a smug look on his face as he walked in.

“I remember you now” He started as he closed the door behind him then just stared at me from across the room. “You're that girl who Ed had some fun with” he explained. Instantly my teeth ground together to hold back from saying something back. “Oh yeah that’s you alright.” he laughed “The girl with the crush on my baby brother” he taunted and walked closer to me where he pulled up a chair and sat down on it and leaned in to look at me. I focused on my breathing and stared intently at the table, knowing if I looked at him I might break.

‘No! Don’t listen to him Jade you're stronger than that now. Ed can’t hurt you anymore’ I thought to myself as I saw Merle’s metal blade reflect the only light in the room into my eyes causing me to blink and look away

“You were always the silent one. not much of anything in that group...I’m surprised you're still alive honestly” he said as he leaned back into his chair and I finally turned my eyes onto him. “Oh boy….no you got a fire in you now” he started to laugh “hell if looks could kill,” he said

“If only,” I whispered, surprising him more with my tone.

“Whatever happened to Ed?” he questioned me

“Dead” I answered mostly to remind myself that he was in fact dead as a doornail and not just to play along with whatever plan Merle had.

“Did you do it?” he smiled looking like he was hoping to hear that I did. With a simple shake of my head as my answer, he sighed and lost the smile. “Hell...maybe you don’t have that fire... maybe more of a flicker of a candle,” he said like it was nothing
