Olivia's: POV
I carried Nayla inside the house she fell asleep on the drive back from the pediatrician's office. My little girl had to go three shots, she only cried for a five minutes
I gave her some children's Motrin before we left the clinic
We had blast at the zoo earlier. We saw all the animals
Nayla was fascinated by the polar bears and monkey's
I brought her one of each animal she liked, we have lunch at the best diner. Nayla had nuggets tatar tots and a glass of apple juice, l went with a garden burger a small salad
I took her upstairs and laid her down for her afternoon nap. I carefully removed her sandals then covered her up with her Ariel throw, l went down to my bedroom kicked off slides. I need to make an appointment to go get pedicure on my feet, and find a stylist who can trim my ends. My hair has gotten so long, l probably get done before my birthday comes in two months. Another year older, what l didn't know was things were about to change for the better. I wonder what Casey's doing on this beautiful Saturday, l know she spends time with her boyfriend. Who l have yet to meet it seems he's always away on business, l consider Casey family. I stay in my lane and don't bother nobody. I turned the TV on to see what's on to watch, l like watching old black and white films. Every since I was a little girl, around five l use to look at Shirley temple movies and little house on the prairie, l would always imagine that I was Charles and Carolyn's daughter. Trying to think of anything other of my alcoholic mother's shouting voice from the other room, no child shouldn't never have to experience
As time went on it got worse. I couldn't wait to leave home for college, l never invited friends over except Casey
She knew what I endure with my mother. I tried not to let my mind go to that dark place, l'm in a different environment. I love my job at the University as a English literature professor like mom was, l decided to watch family feud. There's never nothing on Saturdays till later on, l'm trying to figure out what to make for dinner
I probably make sandwiches it's quick and easy. I think this summer Nayla and I probably head down to Hamptons, my mother's beach house where she would take me during her summer break from the University
The last time I went down there when I was pregnant with Nayla. I hired a cleaning company to clean up and had it remodeled, l replace everything with brand new appliances. The contractors did an amazing job on the house, all the room coated with fresh paint. It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, Nayla l had especially designed. into a mermaid theme, when she gets a little older. We probably redo it the way she likes it, it's literally five minutes away from the beach. Mom always had good taste,
