Stef's: POV
I've been sitting here waiting for the past several hours for Callie to show up. There has been people coming in and out the building, l beginning to think Callie is ghosting me. Maybe she found out that I was coming to town and took off without an explanation, this not like her to do this. So I decided to get up and get some fresh air, Lena's called over three times already l told her Callie hasn't shown up yet. Once l'm outside l hear loud music coming from down the street. It must be a party going on
Luckily l brought my badge along with me, l never leave home without it. I decided to go for a quick stall down the street to see what's going on, the mom in me is a little curious. I have the strangest feeling Callie is at this frat house, when I arrive people were outside drinking and whatever young adults do at these types of parties.
I looked through the backyard and saw guys and girls all cuddled up together in the jacuzzi smoking what appeared to be weed. I pray to God Callie isn't here
I go inside the house walk through the crowd and l hear chatting, then I heard Callie's name being called out so l pushed through to see my eighteen year old daughter standing on the top of the table topless and shaking her ass. Holding a drink in her hand and in the other hand was a blunt, l couldn't believe what I was seeing right before my eyes. I went up to the table and grabbed her by the arm, she was stoned out of her mind, there's no way l'm taking her back to the dorm in this condition. We walked down the street to we're my rental car was parked at. This child has lost her ever loving mind how am l supposed to explain this to Lena that l found our daughter dancing topless in a room full of guys with their eyes focusing on her body. I don't know what would've happened if l didn't arrived here at the nick of time
I unlocked the doors. I fasten the seat belt over Callie and shut the door, l went around the driver's side and got in
I stuck the keys into the ignition and started up the vehicle and pulled out of the parking space. I don't know we're, l'm going hopefully there's a nearby coffee shop somewhere in this town. Up ahead l spot a 24 hour diner
I pull up into the lot and parked the in the front row
It didn't appeared to be crowded. I got Callie out of the car
We went inside, l saw a empty booth in the back we took a seat there. I see the waitress coming over in our direction
She places too menus on to the table, l look over the food selections, the girl was still standing there like she was waiting for something. I look up and say can you give me a few minutes please Stef says to the girl, she rolls her eyes and walks away from the table and went to take the next customers order, l know Callie's going to have a killer hangover in the morning when she wakes up this will teach her a lesson not to drunk again. Another waitress came over to take my order, yes l would like to have a hamburger well done with lettuce tomatoes no onions
With fries on the side a large Pepsi soda and too hot cups of coffee along with some ice water Stef says to the woman who writes down my order, l could strangle Callie right now. Where gonna have a long conversation tomorrow, about her behavior together l'm appalled
And this is my daughter. I see stuff like this on the job
I just never suspected l would be one of those parents
That would have to drag my teenage daughter out of a frat house wasted, l knew l should brought Alex with me but she had other plans for the evening. The waitress comes over carrying a tray of food and sits it down on the table, thank you l said to her and she winks at me and went on her, l slide over the mug of coffee for Callie to drink. I begin taking a bite out of my burger mm that's what I call a hamburger, technically l'm not supposed to be having any greasy food due to my cholesterol being a little higher than normal. I've been taking niacin once a day, hopefully by my next appointment at the doctor's office it should be down some, Lena and l go running every morning and l work out at the gym every day after l leave work. I don't put salt in my meals, Lena practically bakes all the meats these days and she buys fresh vegetables from produce junction so l don't see what the issue is and also she makes delicious smoothies with fresh fruit almond milk and vanilla yogurt and ice. I look over at Callie who has her head on the table, l just shake my head. She needs to wake up so she can drink this coffee while it's hot, l'm surprise she hasn't rushed to the bathroom yet and toss her cookies up. I would suggest taking her to the emergency room and have them pump her stomach, l still may do that after l get done eating my late dinner. The lady comes back to see if l needed anything else, can you please bring me another Pepsi thank you Stef says, and she goes on her way. People have been staring at us since we entered inside the diner
They act like they have never seen a white woman and a biracial teenager before. I tried not to let it get to me
So I just continue on enjoying my meal, Callie finally lifted up her head from the table welcome back sunshine l say to her, mama when did you get here she says in a low whisper. If you had checked your voicemail messages
You would know right Stef states in a sarcastic tone,
Callie you had worried sick l sat in that lounge waited for you to come. The resident advisor called down to your room and didn't get a response, when I spoke with your roommate earlier this morning she said you were asleep
While I was at home doing housework l stumble across your old diary when I was cleaning out your room
I'm not mad or anything l just wish you would have came to me. You and I have always been close from the time you were a little girl, you would follow me around every l went. Why couldn't come to me instead hiding, l'm sorry you felt you like you had to stuffed in silence. I beginning to see why you never came home holidays and summers
Stef tells Callie, who tries to put on a brave face the last thing she wanted to do was cry in a public place she's never been in before, mama l was scared you wouldn't believe me. He told me if I said to anyone you and mommy would send me away somewhere Callie tells me
