Dinner in the Donnelly foster household has always been a quiet affair. Our old maid Cassie sat the food out on the table, it was so good to be in the company of family
Daddy set at the head of the table and mother who sat beside him as always. I can't believe they have been married almost thirty years, ok course they had their moments we're they would have spats here and there
Eventually they'll make up fast. This was what a healthy relationship looked like in my mind, maybe it was time to put myself back out there. Even though l'm scared as hell about getting my heart broken again, my parents have shown me time waits for none and love conquers all
I can't let fear stop me for finding out what's on the other side of the rainbow. I know there's someone special out there, who has experience heartache as well. But first l need to have a heart to heart conversation with my niece who's still very upset with me, if only I can get her attention. I'm gonna take my sister's advice and schedule something for Francesca and l to do, we both love shopping. Maybe we can go there, retail therapy always cheers me up when l'm feeling down after having a bad day at the office, so time me what's been going on in my daughter's lives father said to us. Things are going well at the district attorney's office Daddy l think l might be in the running to be the next head district attorney Alex said
That's good sweetheart, Stephanie honey what's going on with you these days at the precinct Frank states. Dad asks Stefanie, l was recently promoted to sergeant, l won't be on the street that much. The look on my Lena's face was filled with disappointment. Cause she feels like l'm letting my dad once again trying to control my life, he does this every time. Come on love where leaving l am not going to stand here and let my dad control my life choices, l am a gown ass woman and I will not be disrespected in front of my wife and daughter
Stef stated Lena thanks her in laws for a some what delightful dinner. Francesca says to Good bye to her grandparents, Alex couldn't believe how totally unreasonable he was always harder on Stef
Stephanie and my dad very both stubborn headstrong individuals. Daddy this is the 21 first century, we're no longer in the stone age. Alex voices her opinion
Oh no not you too l'm trying to get your sister to boarder her horizons, instead of being stuck behind a desk
She needs to be out in the streets like l was Frank just realize he's trying to push his daughter to be like him

I part of you knows that. You and mom raised us to have our own minds, Alex always tries to be the peace maker in the family. Her mother gives her a small smile

She got in the rental car and they drove off heading back to the hotel, nobody said a word on the way back their destination.
