The sun shone brightly across Steven's sleeping body.

"uUgH" He groans tiredly. Judging by the dark circles and bags under his eyes he didn't sleep too well. All night he had tossed and turned thinking of you. 
He fought the urge to go back to sleep
And decided to get his day started.
Sitting up, he went to go shower and get changed mumbling the same things about you like a broken record. "I can't believe she kicked me in my. ..thing." he grumbled in frustration. "It hurt like heck!" Despite that, He still wanted to help you. He'd see you again eventually. considering you forgot something in your haste to leave.

After getting dressed and grabbing a duffle bag of supplies Steven made his way out to little homeworld. There was a volleyball tournament so he had to be there to heal any hurt gems. But of course, as it was basically tradition he just had to
get his morning donut
Making his way to The Big Donut he stopped at the entrance
He stared at the top of the cliff where you sat just a night prior. He desperately wanted to help you. He walks into the store and is greeted by former mayor Bill Dewey

"Hello, Steven!" 

"Hey, Mr. Dewey." Steven says with a small smile and he orders his favorite donut.

He pays and eats it happily on his way to little homeschool.

You woke up in the middle of the night in a small congealed puddle of your own blood
You washed and bandaged your arms before making your way to your bed
Your eyes were closed all night yet you never actually fell asleep. Tossing and turning but just like most nights the only sleep you get is from when your body eventually shuts down from lack of energy. you could try buying melatonin gummies but that'd take all the money that's been left for you. you yawned and pat around the bed.
Your world shattered when you couldn't find your favorite stuffed animal.

You spent the entire day searching for it. Practically tearing the entire house to shreds
Successfully draining yourself of any energy you had left

You lay down on the living room coffee table exhausted. Feet on the ground, and arms sprawled out

Your stomach grumbled ☁️ One snack couldn't hurt ☁️ you thought to yourself.
And like that, you made your way over to the boardwalk. By this time it was the middle of the afternoon. Many people and gems walking about this time of day
You decided you wanted to get some fries. as they were pretty cheap and they were yummy.
You make your way to Beach Citywalk Fries and order a large basket of fries
While patiently waiting for your fries to be done you hear a voice yelling "Hey!"
You obviously don't think it's for you considering you don't talk to many people in town

You were proven wrong when someone taps your shoulder

You turn around and of course. It's Steven fucking Universe.

You two make eye contact for what feels like centuries 
In reality, it was about 8 seconds before you ran like hell

"W-wait!" he yelled. Anndd... he was chasing you, and fast.

You took shelter behind a rock near the shore.

You sat with your knees tucked to your chest and your head down. You fidgeted with your hands And sighed.

"He's relentless" You muttered to yourself. "Can't he just leave me alone?"

"No can do." Steven said with a chuckle

Defeated, you tiredly look beside you and sigh.
"Why?" You say with an unreadable expression

"Cause I want to be your friend!" He said with a smile plastered on his face

You squinted in annoyance.☁️Disgustingly sweet...☁️ you thought to yourself as you glare at him

"Uhm... I brought you your fries" He said, now smiling a bit awkwardly

"I guess I'll have to pay you back for those" You sighed

"Nope!" Steven chirped "Consider it an offer of friendship!"

Your glare softened and you blinked twice "Erm... thank you." you took the fries and looked down while eating them

"So, what's your name?" Steven asked

"...Y/N"

"That name is so pretty! " he said with stars in his eyes 

"Ah, thanks" you respond

 "My name is Steven!"

"I know" you chuckle, feeling less awkward

"Oh, yeah I guess that makes sense" Steven chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well Y/N do you wanna come hang out at my house?" he says with hopeful eyes
"I'm busy." you say curtly
Steven frowns "With what?"
"I'm looking for something."

Steven thinks for a moment "Oh!" he shuffles through his duffle bag

"Is this it?"

You turn to Steven and gasp. He was holding your F/C stuffed F/A

You snatch it from stevens hands and hug it tightly

You turn to Steven with a smile on your face and tears gushing from your eyes

"Thank you!" yell as you pin him into the sand with a hug.

"No need to thank me" Steven says with a chuckle. his cheeks turning a pretty shade of pink

You stop hugging him but keep him pinned

You look at him with neutral eyes and a slight frown "I'm sorry for the mean stuff I said... and for kicking you in the dick"

"Oh," He chuckles. His cheeks became pinker "It's fine. I'm sorry for being so pushy, you were probably feeling terrible already and my prying didn't help."

You both sat back against the rock

"Though," He continued "I'd like to be friends with you. I want you to feel comfortable telling me how you feel." He says with a genuine smile.

"Oh, I...erm...."
You stumble over your words. He was just so honest with you. truthfully you'd forgotten people could be like him...

"I'm not busy anymore so... I can come over I suppose" you said. A blush creeping on your cheeks. you look away and fidget with your hands.

"Great!" Steven beams as he stands you two up. "Let's go!" he grabbed your hand and ran towards his house.
