We were all sleeping and I had a nightmare. "Tim!" I shouted in my dream and that made me wake up. "Oh, my god" I said as my shirt was all wet.

I went into the bathroom. I washed my face and then looked in the mirror. "Tim?" I said as I turned around. "Tim, I'm so sorry" I said. "No need Y/n, Wake up!" He shouted as I woke up in a tent.

"Oh my fucking god" I shouted as I woke up in shock. "Y/n? Are you okay?" TK asked me. "Ye- Yeah. I'm good" I said as I decided to start work today.

We're out in the woods because there was a huge fire! Like a massive one.

I got changed and walked outside. "Whoa" I said. "Hey, how long have I been out for?" I asked some lady. "like two hours?" She said. "Shit" I said as I now messed up my sleep schedule. I need to fix it once we're done.

There was a reporter saying stuff. She should really get out of here though, it's too dangerous.

We all decided to have a meeting. "Jesus Y/n, you're late" Paul said as I stood next to him. "Shut. The. Fuck. Up" I said as he laughed. "Come on. I'm running on two hours of sleep. I had so much to do last night" I complained.

"Two hours? Oh my god" Paul said. "Exactly. Oh my God" I said.

"I'm Deputy Chief De Leon of the San Angelo Fire Department, acting incident commander. For those of you just joining the party, welcome" De Leon said.

"Buck stop staring" Someone said. Wait, I know a Buck. He works with Eddie. No, can't be. It's probably just another person. "I'm not staring" This Buck said. "You're staring" I heard a familiar voice.

No, it can't be. It seriously cannot be my boyfriend, Eddie Diaz. It's probably just someone else Y/n. Just look forward.

"I think that guy is staring at you" TK told Marjan. "Guys shut up" I said.

"I want to introduce my operations section chief, Captain Owen Strand out of Austin" De Leon spoke as he let my Dad speak.

"The thing we were praying wouldn't happen has happened. The wind has shifted. The fire's now on a collision course with the city of San Angelo. There's a possibility of weather coming in but we can't rely on it and we won't. We have one last shot to turn the tide. Here. On Copper Ridge. We cut a containment line here and we can stop this beast in its tracks. I know you're exhausted. A lot of you haven't had more than a couple hours' sleep in days but on behalf of the city of San Angelo and their 120,000 souls, we're gonna get you up on that fire line and you are gonna cut like hell. Good luck. Stay safe" Dad said his long speech.

"Good choice of words Dad" I told TK and smiled.

Everyone departed to do their own thing.

"Y/n Lynn Strand" The only person who says my full name like that... will always be Eddie, Eddie Diaz.

"Eddie? Eddie!" I shouted as I hugged him.

"Hi baby" He said as he kissed my head and smiled. "Here to help?" I asked him. "Of course" He smiled again. It's the god damn smile. I LOVE IT!

"It's good to see you again, in person" I said. "I missed you so much" He said.

"Hey Y/n Strand!" I heard Judd call my name. "Yeah!" I answered. "Keen to ride a ATV?" He asked me. "Only if I'm driving" I asked. "Okay yeah, we need a medic" Judd said.

"I'm a medic" Eddie said as I looked at him in confusion. "Eddie Diaz, with the 118 Los Angeles" Eddie spoke as we both walked towards them. "Well isn't that a coincidence. The two love birds finally together again" Marjan teased.

"Haha, funny" I said sarcastically.

"I'm a firefighter but was a medic in the Army, been on more than a few missions that looked a lot like this" Eddie said as I rolled my eyes.
