"Sonic, where are you?" Nine called out to him, acting like he didn't just see him disappear right i front of him.
Damon walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Dude, he's gone. We have to-" before she could continue, she clutched her side once more groaning in pain, gritting her teeth.
"Are you sure you're okay? Cause it doesn't seem like you are!" He claimed, as Damon slid to the floor.

But she wasn't able to speak at that point.
If she lied again, he would know the truth.

"Let me see-"

"No!" Damon exclaimed, quickly pushing Nines approaching hand away.
"Lift your hood up!" He commanded, trying to remove her hand that pushed pressure on her side.
"No!"

"Move your hand!" He asked again, struggling to move her hand.
He was on his knees at this point.
"Stop!"
It was a struggle for a minute, till he was finally able to lift her hood up.
Revealing her side that had a black Kami underneath, but also something else.

Nine looking at her wound in shock.
It was big, and bleeding.
Damon pushed him off, as they both stood up.
Nine looking at her with worry, and anger.
"Why didn't you tell me?!" He asked aggressively.
"I mean. H-how did this happen?!" Nine asked with concern.

"I got hit by the cross fire." Damon replied, rubbing her arms.
Nine thought for a moment.
He looked back at the door, realizing that the mech was distracted as it left the door cracked open.
Nine then looked back at the crystal, pondering for a moment.

"We need to grab the shard, and get you out of here." He said, hoping up and grabbing the prism out of its place.

"Wait," She asked, as Nines metal tails opened then using his two tails to wrap around the prism.
"Trust me, I have a plan." He said, now using his metal tails to walk.
"You think you can last a little longer?" Nine asked.
Now Knowing she was hit.

"Umm, y-yeah." She said, lifting herself up.
They both ran out the cracked door, then stoped in their tracks.
Seeing rebel, Knux and rusty surrounded by bad nicks.
"Follow me." Nine said, running towards the wall then hoping onto it.
His metal tails latch on, as Damon's claws and shoes did the same.

They both scurried along the wall, till Nine made a complete stop noticing the trapped trio looking up at them.
Nine looked down to them with slight guilt in his look.
"Nine," Damon started, turning her back to the wall.
"I think we should-" but yet she was then cut off, when Nine started to move again.
"Wait!" Damon called out, crawling on the wall.

Nine went lower, till his feet hit the cold floor.
As Damon hoped off, Nine switched the shard into his hands.
Now running with it.
Damon was about to run after him, but was stoped in her tracks when she heard crashing and yelling.

"Aaaargh! YOU COWARDS!!!"

Sounded like Knux.
Damon immediately ran after Nine, jumping over a pile of bad nicks.
"Nine stop!" Damon called, finally getting his attention as she came to a halt.
"We...we need to help them." She said, pointing behind them.
"We are, but it will take some time." Nine replied, turning his back on her, walking away.

"B-but we have to help them." She said, her voice sounding concerned.
Causing Nine to turn around, looking annoyed.
"Look, they're strong, they can help themselves!" He exclaimed, clutching the shard in his grip.
"Now let's go! You're hurt." His voice sounded aggressive at first, till with a sudden soft tone when he mentioned her wound.

"Why can't we go back there and help them?!" Damon asked, starting to get slightly angry.
"We can't! Like I said, they can help themselves!"

"You are such a FUCKING COWARD!" Damon yelled in his face, her voice echoed throughout the place.
Then both met with silence.

Nine stared at her with surprise for a second, as Damon stared at him in anger.
Nines eyebrows scrunched, looking at her sternly.
"I. Am. Not." He then used his metal tails to lift him up higher, making him taller than her as an attempt to seem intimidating.
"A coward." He finished, looking down at her.
He was slightly close to her face.
But she didn't care.

As he stared into her chocolate brown eyes.
She stared back into his ocean sea blue ones.
Showing that she isn't sacred of him.
She knew he wasn't gonna hurt her.
Well he has before.
But she could tell that he wouldn't do it again.

"I saved sonic from getting crushed, I helped you guys get here and pass through that door to get what WE need to take back our world."

Nines eyes squinted at her, as Damon showed no fear.
"I am no coward." His biological tails flicked.

Damon could feel his spicy minty breath in her face.
His breath was giving her quite the headache, but yet still wondered if his lips would taste like it.

She then looked at him up and down, trying to look intimidating as well.
She looked up, licked her lips, then opened her mouth.
"Ya know...I couldn't hear a single god damn word you said cause I was to focused on your hot ass breath." She whispered, her voice sounding lower.

She came slightly closer to his face, noses almost touching.

"Your dog breath is giving me a headache." She whispered again, giving a very evil smile.
Nine tried his best to keep a straight face, as he couldn't handle holding back his flustered expression.
His white cheeks turning a light maroon.

Nine could also feel her breath passing his face.
Just seeing her smile made him want to smile back.
He wondered what her plump lips would feel like on his.
But this is a serious moment.

He tried to think of a comeback, or a reason why he isn't a coward.
But can't find one.
He's always focused on himself, and himself only.
Never wanted friends, or even family.
He found one random stranger in danger, they where getting robbed.

But what he did...he just put his hood up and walked away.
But that was before he invented his robotic tails.
He didn't want to show how scared he was.
He just walked away.

Nine looked deep into Damon's sparkling eyes.
At this point, he had nothing to say.
"We will help them...but like I said, it will take time...you just have to trust me...please?" That's the first time he ever begged in a while.

He always acted tuff and fearless.

Damon sighed, as he lowered himself back on his feet.
"C'mon. You're hurt." He said, as he still kept a serious face.
He was still trying to look fearless and tuff.
Damon walked right behind him, feeling like she won the argument.

Time to leave this place.
