It was a warm sunny day when the sound of what sounded like a phone ringing startled me and then made me embarrassed when I realized it was mine. I looked at my boss as if asking if I can go answer it to which she nods making me run to the employee bathroom seeing the caller id say "Cincinnati" making me nervous. This is the phone call I have been waiting on so I answer nervously "Hello?" I say trying not to sound shaky "Hello, is this Taylor Dempsey?" I hear a women with a kind voice ask "Yes this is she" I say trying to sound polite "Hi my name is Kara Edwards and I wanted to call to let you know that you have an audition for the Cincinnati Ben-Gals" she says and I try to refrain myself from freaking out on the phone.
I do however do a mini happy dance "Oh my god! Thank you so much! I am honored for this opportunity!" I say happily "Of course, I will text you all of the details you need to know!" she says "Thank you so much!" I say and then we soon hang up. Once I am sure I hung up I start to happy dance more so excited then realizing I need to quit this job since I will be living in Cincinnati. I walk out and see the big boss next to my manager and they clearly don't look happy meaning one thing, my manager lied to my boss about what I was doing like usual. So i just chuckle taking my apron off "I quit!" I say smiling at them and walk out.
I get into my car and call my mom "Hi honey aren't you working?" she asks once she answers right away "I just quit" I say pulling out of the parking lot "Wait what!?" she asks "I got the offer to audition for the Ben-Gals!" I say excitedly making her cheer "I knew you would do it Tay! I am so proud of you!" she cheers making me smile "Thanks mom! I can't believe it! I got the audition and will probably be finally leaving Philly" I say realizing my dreams of getting out of the city and doing what I love is happening soon "I know! You've talked about this since you were 6 and found out what an NFL cheerleader was! Ok I have to go your brother is being a pain, call later ok?" She asks and I say yes then hang up.
I pull up to my apartment complex thinking how I will break this to my roommate, Sophia, who is also my best friend since we were 8. I know she'll be proud but I am still nervous. I soon get out of the car and walk up to my apartment door soon walking in to the smell of garlic. I inhale loving the smell then say "Honey I'm home!" I call out making Sophia look over at me "You're home early?" she asks confused "Yeah I um had to quit" I say making her eyes go wide "Um ok and why exactly?" she asks turning her full attention to me "Because I received a call that I got an audition for the Cincinnati Ben-Gals!" I say smiling making her jaw drop and her get excited running up to hug me "No way Tay! I am so proud of you!" she says as I hug her back "Thanks Soph!" I say when I get a text notification seeing it's from the lady Kara.

Audition date: June 15th
Time: 9:00 am
Location: Paycor Stadium
I read the text realizing I leave in a week making my face drop and show Sophia "I have a week to go to Ohio" I say and Sophia then looks at me "Honey it will all be fine ok? Now let's eat and drink some wine to celebrate!" She says making me smile.
-When Taylor has to leave-
I can't believe the week went by so quickly. But here I am saying goodbye to my parents, my brother and sister, and my best friend. I first give my siblings a hug, they're both identical twins and are 15 years old my brothers name is Adam and my sisters name is Kaitlynn. "You two behave while also torturing mom and dad ok?" I say making them laugh "It's what we do best" Adam says giving me a hug after Kaitlynn gives me a hug. I smile then turn to my mom and dad. My dad is smiling while my mom is trying not to cry "We're so proud of you kiddo" my dad says as I hug him and then pull my mom into the hug "Thank you guys" I then see Sophia trying not to cry "Awh Sophie!" I say hugging her tightly "Listen the moment you get that spot on the team you are calling me so I can go to a game and get to see Joe Burrow play ok?" she says making me laugh and nod pulling away hearing my flight number "That's me, I'll call you guys when I land ok?" I ask grabbing my bags and give everyone one last hug then walk to the gate.
-in Ohio-
I get to the hotel that everyone else is staying at and see I am rooming with a girl name Abigail. I hope she's nice so it's not awkward this week. I get my key and grab my luggage walking to the room. Once on our floor I look at each door then find my room number unlocking and walking in seeing three girls and they all look at me "Um hi I'm Taylor?" I say getting kind of nervous when one of the girls, who is absolutely beautiful, with red hair and freckles comes up "Ah hi I'm Abigail but you can call me Abby!" she says hugging me. I am a bit taken back but hug back anyways as she pulls me to the group "Girls this is my roommate Taylor, Taylor these are some of the girls I've met here Sadie and Angela" she points each one "Hi!" I say sitting down with them "Woah you have an accent where are you from?" Sadie asks really interested "I'm from Philadelphia" I say and they all look shocked "So why audition for the Bengals if you lived in Philly?" Angela asks confused "Well I knew I wanted to get out of the city and I am a huge fan of the bengals so I thought why not" I say truthfully as they all nod. We end up staying up pretty late talking until we decide to call it a night. After my shower and brushing my teeth I throw on an oversized hoodie and a pair of biker shorts grabbing my phone and charger heading over to my bed when I get a notification on my phone.
