"Thanks for coming." Quinn said, letting Sam into her apartment.

"You sounded really upset." Sam replied. "Are you okay? Are the kids okay?"

"They're fine." Quinn nodded. "They're sleeping."

Sam nodded back as he closed the apartment door while Quinn sat down on the couch.

"Do you wanna talk?" Sam offered.

"I'm just tired." Quinn stated.

"Go to bed." Sam advised Quinn. "I'll listen for the baby and Beth, and I'll be here if any of you need anything."

"No, I'm exhausted." Quinn clarified. "I can't do all of this on my own."

"Puck's still at Jake's?" Sam guessed, joining Quinn on the couch.

"He's doing much better." Quinn nodded. "But his doctors don't think he's ready to come home yet."

"Do you?" Sam wondered.

"I don't know." Quinn muttered. "He came to Hudson's birth high."

Sam frowned.

"That was already a month ago." Quinn stated. "I don't want him missing his children growing up."

"Does Beth know what's been going on?" Sam asked.

"No." Quinn shook her head. "No, she worships him. I don't want her knowing about this."

"She's too young." Sam said in agreement.

"I'm running out of lies and excuses." Quinn told Sam. "And our wedding's next month. I don't know what to do."

"Do you still wanna marry him?" Sam wondered.

"We're already legally married." Quinn reminded Sam.

"I know." Sam said. "I just meant... have you talked to him about it?"

"No." Quinn shook her head. "I'm afraid that'll fuck up his progress or he'll change his mind."

"He won't." Sam insisted. "Look, I know you're overwhelmed with everything going on, but you're doing a great job, Quinn."

Quinn looked at Sam.

"With taking care of the kids." Sam clarified. "And protecting them. And him. Especially when you're only a few weeks postpartum, and after everything that happened."

"He would do the same thing if the roles were reversed." Quinn said softly.

"Does your mom know what's going on?" Sam wondered.

"She just knows that things are complicated between Noah and I." Quinn answered. "And the only reason she knows that is because Beth told her Noah hasn't been living here."

"Well, you're beyond exhaustion." Sam continued. "Why don't you go lay down in your bed?"

"I really don't wanna be alone." Quinn shook her head.

"I'll lay with you." Sam offered. "Just until you fall asleep."

"Okay." Quinn said. "Thank you."

"Come on." Sam smiled.

The blondes went into Quinn and Puck's room and sat down on the bed. Sam held Quinn for a while to calm her down and help her get to sleep.

"Sam." Quinn said softly.

Sam looked at Quinn.

"You're a really good guy." Quinn told him. "You're gonna be a great dad someday."

Sam smiled. "Thanks."

Quinn smiled back as she looked at Sam. Before she could even think about it, she cupped his cheek and went to kiss him.

The sounds of the baby crying stopped Quinn and Sam from kissing.

"I-I'm gonna go check on him." Sam decided, quickly getting up and leaving the room.

Quinn took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as she climbed out of bed.

"Sam."
