"We got true Jackson here coming out of Houston texas, he was just a student at Clark Atlanta university just yesterday he was his coach's number one player until he took a few months off from playing for personal reasons but he's back and better ! It's like his life changed overnight he's now signed to the New York giants signing for just at a million dollars which I believe is more then a great deal for a twenty-two year old true how are you feeling?" A news reporter spoke.
True shook himself out of his thoughts looking up at the camera that was pointed in his face, he licked over his bottom lip before clearing his throat to speak.
"I feel amazing, this like a dream come true you know? I've been playing football since a little boy now it's like all this paid off for me in the end.. I didn't really have nobody on my side when I entered college except my friend group and now my girlfriend so it's like I know they proud of me for doing great things but it stills a bittersweet moment because I had to leave my life back in Atlanta although I'm ready to do great things with this team it's nothing but grind time now" He responded
The young man looked over at his social media manager who looked at him with a smile, true had been working with his new team all morning and it was paying off social media was loving him.
"Congratulations true, you have many blessings coming your way you're going to achieve greatness it was destined for you, Any words from coach Scott?"
"We're glad to have him on the team know it's going to turn it up a notch, we all know he's going to do great things just look at his highlights this kid is insane! It's a blessing getting to work with him I'm glad we got him before anyone else could, welcome to the team kid!" The older man spoke.
"With that being said congratulations from Chanel fox 5 news , true any final shout outs?"
"Hmm, shout-out my girlfriend it's her birthday today, have a good one love I know you proud of me" He spoke making a heart with his hands. "Awww, aren't you the sweetest!"
Once the cameras cut off true stood up shaking hands with everyone before going towards his manager.
"You did good true!" Ashley smiled at him making him smile. "Appreciate it, anybody gone show me to my apartment?" He questioned
Soon as he touched down the team let him know they blessed him with an apartment along with his nice check.
"Damn, you ready to leave them already? They usually have a celebration party but I can show you" She shrugged
"Hmm- I'll probably pop out later, I needa shower and shit anyways" True responded pulling out his phone seeing it was blowing up from calls.
He scrolled through all of them pressing Kalia's number placing the phone on speaker as he walked out of the building.
"TRUEEE!" Her loud voice screamed with pure excitement and joy. "Yes ma'am?" He chuckled
"I'm so fucking proud of you oh my gosh! This is super exciting I am beyond proud of you I want you to know that, also I'm shipping you gifts out so please send me your address when you can!"
"Thank you mama, I'm proud of you too and happy birthday, yo' gifts should be in the mail box today and I sent you money to get your hair and nails done check your Zelle ; you know what you doing today?" True questioned
"I'm not doing anything true, I told you that I'm still a bit sad I just want to lay in bed and reminisce and watch your football highlights" She sighed
"Please do something, you don't need to be sad especially on yo' birthday pretty"
"True, are you able to end your call for a bit so your driver can speak with you?" Ashley spoke looking at him . "Yeah, ima' call you when I get back home love happy birthday again" He spoke up
"Okay.." Kalia spoke letting her voice crack.
True frowned with a sigh before he hung up his phone throwing his face in his hands. "Toughen up True, New York is going to make you happy" Ashley rubbed his shoulder
True looked at Ashley before shaking his head.
Of course true was happy about signing but in reality all he wanted to do was be under Kalia, he wanted to be there to celebrate her birthday & he couldn't do it was making his mood go down.
"Please lighten up true, I know you're sad but you have a sports event and a party to attend later there's going to be press, you don't want to be on camera looking sad honey" Ashley frowned
"... I just want my girl- I'm sad as fuck we had to break up" He sighed running a hand down his face. "Why did y'all? She couldn't fly down?"
"She in college also and she do cheer so no, she couldn't, we broke up so we won't hold each other back I guess we too young anyways"
"I am so sorry... if there's anything I can do please let me know, I'll mail her flowers or anything just let me know whatever" Ashley sighed feeling bad for the couple.
