To The Moon And Back

The Beach

Today, we are at the beach. The climate is sunny enough. We had a very good time playing in the water. We pranked each other and laughed till our stomach ached. I am very care-free today and Arya too seemed very different than before. Like less stiff and extra playfulness.

We took many pictures and enjoyed a lot. It seemed like we are together from a very long time. On the other hand, I can sense a whole new movie in front of me. Arjun and Sanvi are flirting very openly in front of us. I think she forgot that she has a friend here.

Later we played volleyball with Arya and me being a team and Sanvi, Arjun the other team. And we won. Still after sitting in the restaurant to eat, Arjun is still complaining that we cheated to win.

The restaurant is at the beach side so we can faintly hear the sound of the waves and murmured voices of people. Arjun is telling some funny stories that happened when he was on trips from his past.

We ate our food very quickly as we are very hungry as we spent all our energy. We paid our bill. I suddenly wanted to have an ice cream even though I am shivering because of playing in the water. As we are standing up from our chairs I asked them if anyone wanted to eat ice cream.

"You are shivering and you want to eat ice cream. You will get cold. We can ice cream later after you are warm enough."

Arya is right. I am about to say ok to him when Arjun came near me and put his hand around my shoulder. "Aadhya, don't worry. I am there for you. I will get you ice cream and everyt-" He was dragged back by Arya who is shooting daggers at Arjun with his eyes.

"You know what? You guys go back to the resort and pack. I WILL take her and I WILL buy her ice cream." He stressed his words.

I am blushing while Sanvi and Arjun exchanged their glances and chuckled.

I didn't say anything to him while we are on the way to eat and while eating too. I just told him the flavor I wanted to eat and he went inside to buy.

I am looking at all the couples at the beach who are having fun and it looked lovely. I wished if it will be the same with him. When I think about his behavior, I can feel that he likes me too. But why isn't he saying anything about it.

I heard him coming out and I came out of my thinking. I thanked him when he handed me the ice cream. We ate in silence and went back to the resort where Arjun and Sanvi had already packed their luggage, waiting in the lobby.

We both packed our bags and checked out from the rooms.

We are on our return journey. Arya is driving and I sat in the passenger seat. Sanvi and Arjun are tired as they had a lot more fun than us and are sleeping in the back seat.

I am just staring ahead thinking and playing with the chain around my neck and put my other hand on the gear shift absent-mindedly. Just then, Arya is about to shift the gear so he grabbed my hand. We both looked at each other, not averting our eyes.

"Eyes on the road, please!" Sanvi said from behind, chuckling.

I retrieved my hand immediately. Arya cleared his throat and I saw a hint of smile on his face.

I glared back at Sanvi who is grinning at me like an idiot.

After a while, we are having conversations though Arjun is the mostly talking while we are just listening to it. And we turned on the music and started singing along.

I had a lot of fun on this trip and a whole lot of memories from it.

Arya and Arjun dropped us at our place and they went on their own way.
