28. Bio- Dad Bruce Wayne - Final Part

The Batfamily went out on patrol and Alfred stayed in the cave along with Babs who were searching for any trace of Marinette. It had been 3 days since Marinette had been kidnapped. There was no ransom note or threat yet. Bruce felt like someone was tailing them the whole night tonight but everytime he tried to find them there was nothing. It was getting concerning but there wasn't much he could do without the boys getting suspicious. If there was someone tailing them then the rest of the boys would probably realise too.

All Dick was thinking about was Marinette, her smile which could light up a room, her bright blue eyes and shining midnight hair. This was the only thing that Damian was thinking about too but not in the same way. Dick was thinking of her romantically, she was so cute. On the other hand Damian was thinking about his dorky sister figure, who was one of the only people in the house who he bonded with and who actually understood him.

Cass felt a presence behind her but couldn't quite place her finger on it. Neither could she sense the person once she turned around. Something told her this wasn't going to end well but what could she do. The others seemed to be fine and she could always detect exactly where this person was, but not this time so it could just be a fluke. She let it go but couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling of being watched.

Marinette jumps in front of the batfam, wearing a black mask that covers over half of her face. Only her eyes and eyebrows were visible.
Dick takes one look at her eyes and thinks, 'those eyes look so familiar.'

Batman jumps at the new assassin and starts fighting. The other boys felt something familiar in her and tried to figure out who she was. During the fight, Batman pulls her head covering off to reveal the unmistakable, beautiful, midnight blue hair.

"Marinette !" Dick screamed.

The others realised who she was but were surprised when she replied.

"My name is Midnight Viper," she said.

They tried to subdue her without hurting her, but it wasn't working. They tried to talk to her but the only thing she would say was 'Kill Grayson.'. They realised what her aim was but they couldn't do anything. They didn't even know why she wanted to kill Nightwing, the outfit was of an assassin but it wasn't the League of Assassins.

All throughout the fight Dick tried to talk to her, trying to convince her not to do it. He tried to talk to her but it was like she had been brainwashed. When Dick was distracted with the comms turning on and Alfred saying that they tracked Mari's location to a warehouse on the outskirts of the city.

She stabbed him in the leg and he collapsed. He had already lost a lot of blood and was tired due to the almost 2 hour long fight too.

Black started clouding his vision and the last words he said were "I love you Mari, I'm sorry I failed you."

This caused Marinette to snap out of her forcefully induced trance and she gasped and staggered back, dropping the dagger. She rushed to his side and pulled him onto her lap, sobbing.

"No no no no, I'm sorry, I love you too !" she whispered frantically.

The rest of the batboys rushed to Dick, they pulled him out of Marinette's arms and rushed him to the batmobile. Marinette was frozen, the only thing she could do was to cry. This was all her fault, she just killed her older brother. Bruce placed a hand on her shoulder.

"It's not your fault," he said "Alfred will fix him right up, he's just tired."

Marinette nodded but she knew that whatever they said, it was still her fault. They took her home along with Dick. Alfred sent everyone out and started working on Dick. All the batboys waited outside. Marinette was waiting anxiously with Damian lying on her lap. Jason and Tim were snoring away on the seat beside them.

Half an hour later the boys were let in. Marinette lurked behind while the others talked to their brother. Dick noticed Marinette and smiled at her. He motioned for her to come forward. When she timidly stpped forward, Dick pulled her in by the waist. This caused her to help but land in Dick's awaiting arms. 

"I missed you!" he said leaning closer

"I missed you too, I'm sorry" Marinette replied, closing the gap between them. The rest of the batfam cheered and Bruce grunted.
