Kaveh's POV

"So everything looks okay?"

I tilted my head at Tighnari, his ears flicking back and forth as his hand stayed steady on the small black kitten lying on the table in front of him. It had only been a single day since Alhaitham kicked him out yet when Tighnari was standing here in front of me, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Not that I regretted anything of course, everything was perfect when it came to Alhaitham. Tighnari had walked over to examine the kitten, make sure everything was fine.

"Everything looks fine. And I'm not sure if you two saw before but it's a girl."

"A girl?"

I raised my eyebrow, looking over at him. He gave me a warm smile as he lifted his head away from the kitten.

"Yes. Very much a girl. Is that a problem?"

"No I just-"

I groaned and placed my hand on my blonde hair, playing with a small piece in my hand.

"I already had names picked out for a boy kitten. That's all."

"And what names would those be?"

"......Fluffy?"

I watched Tighnari fling a hand to his mouth and I heard him start to chuckle, his face getting very red as he looked away from my eyes.

"You don't think Fluffy is a GOOD NAME?"

I snapped, my face starting to turn even more red than it had before. He slowly lowered his hand from his face and looked away, trying to disguise his laughter with a cough.

"Fluffy is a fine name I'm just surprised that one got by Alhaitham."

"Err. I didn't exactly ask him yet. But I know he won't care no matter what I name the cat. I don't even know if he's going to care about the thing. I kind of think he only agreed to keep the cat because I asked him to."

"Or because you gave him something else."

Tighnari murmured, looking away as he kept chuckling.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?"

"Nothing."

He smiled at me, turning his back as he started to walk towards my door.

"Well you don't need me here anymore, the kitten looks fine. I can come back in about a week if you two get worried."

"Wait I don't-"

I called, running after him as I reached my hand out to grab his shoulder, trying to pull him back to me. I bit my lip harshly, I half expected something to go wrong with the kitten. Everything between us had been perfect lately, it felt a bit too perfect. Something had to go wrong, something always went wrong between us.

"You don't always have to look for something to go wrong, Kaveh."

Tighnari spoke, turning his back towards me. His eyes looked into mine, and I could see him becoming serious again.
