Kaveh's POV
"Alhaitham?"
I whispered, but moments later I heard him start screaming. It was a shrill, painful scream that felt like it was making my ears explode. When I turned around to look at him he was clutching his head, tears streaming down his face and his hands were shaking.
"What the hell happened?"
I gasped, rushing to his side. I sat on the bed beside him and did what came to mind. I did whatever I did to him when he was upset, I reached my hand around for his head and rested it on my shoulder. He stopped screaming the second I grabbed him but he was still shaking and groaning, like something was stabbing him from the inside out.
"It's okay. It's okay."
I whispered, bringing my other hand up to his head as I started running my fingers gently through his hair. What was happening to him? He was a sobbing shivering mess in my arms, but moments ago he was telling me that he didn't remember me. He was telling me he was perfectly fine with me leaving so he could forget all about me. When he called my name it sounded like him, it sounded like the man who loved me. But I couldn't get my hopes up.
"Can you speak?"
I whispered, my hand still running through his hair. He was gasping, his breaths sounded strained and his body convulsed with each breath like he had a major headache. His hands were gripping the side of his skull as he gasped, he looked like he was dying. But at least he stopped screaming.
"Alhaitham I need you to talk to me. Are you dying? What hurts?"
I whispered, removing my hands from his hair and reached my fingers out gently for his face. I wrapped my hands around his cheeks, they were wet as tears fell down his face. His eyes met mine and I flinched backwards from the shock, he didn't look like himself at all. His eyes looked crazy, they were racing with so much emotion he looked like he was going to explode. His face was twisted in an expression of pain and loneliness, he looked like someone had stabbed him.
"He's not dying."
I heard a soft, child-like voice come from across the room. I knew that voice. I quickly turned my head as did Alhaitham, our eyes both falling on the archon of wisdom, standing in the middle of the room with her arms crossed as she was looking at us.
"Help him! I don't know what's going on!"
I pleaded, tears pricking my eyes as well. I had no idea what was going on with him or why she was here. Even if he didn't remember me that didn't mean I wanted him dead. I loved him with all my heart and I needed him to be safe.
"You."
I heard Alhaitham growl beside me, his voice deeper and angrier than I have ever heard it.
"It's nice to see you again Al-"
Nahida started, a soft smile on her face. But she never got to finish her sentence. Before I could reach my arm out to stop Alhaitham he had dove off the edge of the bed before I could even blink. He lunged forward, quick as lightning and threw his hand out at Nahida. I opened my mouth to scream, to stop him but he was moving too fast for me to react. As his hand reached out to grab her, faster than my eyes could follow, she teleported across the room so her back was against the door. Alhaitham stumbled forward, his hands meeting nothing as he stopped himself from falling to the ground.
"ALHAITHAM! What are you doing?"
I yelled, jumping to my feet as I rushed to his side. I wanted to place my hand on his back but I didn't know what was going on. Would that make him more angry?
"SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?"
I yelled, tears coming to my eyes just because of how confused I was. I didn't understand anything, these past few days have been the most confusing and hurtful of my life. I wanted something to make sense, I would do anything for the one thing I wanted in my life to make sense.
