Missing in action

Chapter fifteen

Seven months later

I get out of the car to get Theo out, he was wearing a little red bull top that James had gotten for him a few weeks ago. I was just wearing jeans with a basic white top and my long coat, Anna was dressed similar with the cold weather at the start of February. James was already working and Anna imagined she wouldn't be able to see him until later on in the day, she was excited to see his work seeing as James always spoke about it. 

"Theo cmon put your coat on its cold" I say holding it out to him, he had grown a lot recently and was nearly 3 years old. The time has shot past and he was becoming his own person more everyday. 

"No mummy, I have my special top on" he says stretching it out to show me. He was obsessed with the shirt and tried to wear it all day and even to sleep. I had to change him out of it after he had fallen asleep. 

"I know but it's cold out here I don't want you getting sick" I say pulling him towards me. 

"Yeah look mummy and I have our coats on" Anna said as she walks around the car with our bags. I had my large tote bag filled with everything I could think of as it was going to be a long day for Theo. 

"We can get you a hat or something if you wear your coat" I say smiling at him, his face lights up and he comes closer for me to put his coat on. Theo had been FaceTiming James a lot with Anna to talk about the racing and things. I was working so much recently that I still had no clue about anything. I still hadn't even watched a race on TV, Anna was similar and just knew what James had told her, mostly about red bull. 

"Okay but hurry up I don't wanna miss it" he says grabbing my hand, I swing my bag over my shoulder and Anna follows behind grabbing our passes. Theo pulls my hand going in the direction of everyone else. We walk through security and head to where we're staying to watch the race. 

"Mummy look hats" Theo shouts as we're walking. I spin my head over and see a range of teams things for sale. 

"Ooo Theo look there's a red one thats cool" Anna said walking over with us. Theo scans all of the hats that will be way too big for him, but I promised to get him one. 

"Like lightening McQueen, thats awesome" Theo says looking up at me. I smile back at him overjoyed with how happy he is. 

"Look this one is the same as your top" I say pointing to a red bull one.

"But I want a different colour" he replies looking over them all, I pick him up and rest him on my hip so he can get a better view of them. He gasps and points to one. 

"Mummy I like that one, it's a colour of a mango. Im mango" Theo shouts learning towards it. He picks it up and places it on his head. It tips to the side and covers his brows, but his smile is so bright. 

"You look so handsome mango" I say tipping the hat up more to see his eyes more. 

"I'll pay and catchup to you" Anna says smiling at Theo. 

"Thankyou" I smile, walking over to the fence I can see part of the track. 

"Look thats where the cars will drive" I say to Theo, he has one hand on his hat and the other around my neck. his mouth pops open as he looks at the track. 

"Woah" he mumbles looking around taking everything in. 

"Shall we carry on" Anna says behind us, I spin around and we follow her. 

"James said later we can go and see in the garage and see the car Theo" she carries on, smiling at him as he still clutches onto his new hat. I take a look at it unsure what team it is, just knowing the bright orange colour. McLaren, haven't heard much about them.
