POV: LastLife!Scott

He stared at the swirling green sky. His eyesight had improved since the original turning, however it wasn't as good as it had been. Either way, he was grateful. He understood his magic... And Jimmy had told him he could go home today. It'd been two weeks since he'd been brought here and frankly, he was ready to go back.

He stretched his fingers, splaying them out into the air. "I request contact with Canary." He whispered, palming a green pearl on a chain he now wore. A small green glow came from it. It was calling him, as communicators didn't work here. He spoke into it. "Canary, I'm headed back to Hermitcraft."

"Ohhh, Bye Rainbow. Remember how to get back?" Scott heard Jimmy's voice through the orb. 'Rainbow' was his name among the listeners. Sort of a code name, kinda ironic... He stretched his new wings, which weren't feathered, but almost like floating crystalline emeralds. He knew how to cloak them into standard wings, but he planned to do that once he got there.

"Of course, Canary. Bye! End-."

"Wait, Before you go, don't tru-" The necklace stopped glowing suddenly, cutting Jimmy off.

Scott paused, skeptical about why contact had ended. "I request contact with Canary."

The necklace glowed, and flickered, straining to reach out to Jimmy...

CRACK - A fissure formed, splitting the necklace into two shards. "SHOOT-" Scott said in surprise, stepping back out of pure shock as it slipped out of his hand.

It flickered, almost glitching, and was in one piece again. He must have imagined the broken crack on it... But it wouldn't be together for long.

His eyes widened as the now-intact necklace shattered against the ground... Shards flying into the air, ruined.

"Shoot." He sighed. "... Marytn's gonna kill me. I'm gonna need a new messaging device." He knew he should just go ask for a new one, but he had already been gone from the server for so long...

The others would be worried... If anyone disappeared this long in the games, everyone knew they were plotting something, or was in HUGE trouble and soon would have a death message popping up on the communicator.

So instead of doing the decidedly logical thing, he closed his eyes, summoning a glowing light of green in the palm of his hand. He moved it in a sweeping motion, whispering the chant. "Open a gateway. Let me go back to the server where which I reside." He heard the tell-tale jingling noise of the magic working, and without opening his eyes, he grasped a doorknob from where there used to be thin air, pulled it open, and stepped through.

As he did, he was hit by a sense of vertigo, losing all sense of where his body was in space. The instinctive urge to open his eyes hit him, but Jimmy had explicitly warned him against that. He instead listened, trying to find the other door in this liminal space between realms.

All around him, noise was sounding, disorientating him further. It wasn't any noise he was used to. A chiming, almost discordant in melody, almost sounding like wind chimes slamming into each other. He took a deep breath, trying to isolate the soft jingling of his magic, but that other foreign sound was drowning it all out.

All of a sudden, the sound stopped. Replaced with footsteps, voices, and another foreign sound, this one was almost like the gentle strumming of some stringed instrument such as a harp. Did he manage to make it? It didn't sound like what he expected from Hermitcraft, but he was pretty sure he'd made it to some server. Either way, it was probably safe to open his eyes now.
