Chapter 2

Annalise in her own ship on her way to Coruscant, R2 beeps and Annalise says, "Yeah, I know, R2. I just have a bad feeling about this." R2 beeps and Annalise says, "I know, it was my idea, but ever since 10 years ago when everyone found out a princess is a Jedi Knight, everyone's after me. I have to be very careful." Annalise then lands the ship on the landing platform next to the Alderaan ship, where her bodyguard is dressed as her. Annalise walks off the ship with R2 behind her and she meets up with Captain Typho who flies in on his own ship also. 'Princess Organa' walks off the ship with her guards. Captain Typho says, "I guess you were wrong, Your Highness. There was no danger at all." Annalise's stomach still feels queasy. Then the ship explodes and Annalise and Captain Typho are thrown back. Annalise and Captain Typho stand up and Annalise rushes over to her bodyguard and she lifts her mask up and she says, "Corde." Corde looks at Annalise and says, "Milady, I'm so sorry. I failed you, princess." Corde closes her eyes and Annalise has tears in her eyes and says, "No." Captain Typho walks over to Annalise and says, "Milady, you're still in danger here." Annalise stands up and wipes her tears and she says, "I shouldn't have come back." Captain Typho says, "This vote is very important. You did your duty. Corde did hers. Now, come." Annalise nods and she follows after Captain Typho with R2 following behind them.

Later, Annalise walks into Chancellor Palatine's room to see the Jedi Council with a few senators behind her. Master Yoda looks at his former padawan and he says, "Princess Organa, your tragedy on the landing platform-- terrible. Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart." Annalise says, "Do you have any idea who was behind this attack?" Master Windu says, "Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners on the moons of Alderaan." Annalise says, "I think that Count Dooku was behind it." Ki-Adi-Mundi says, "He is a political idealist, not a murderer." Master Windu looks at Annalise and says, "You know, milady, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He couldn't assassinate anyone. It's not in his character." Master Yoda says, "But for certain, princess, in grave danger you are." Chancellor Palpatine says, "Master Jedi, may I suggest... the princess be placed... under the protection of your graces." Annalise's father who was very worried about his daughter safety says, "I think that's a great idea." Annalise says, "I don't. I don't need the Jedi's protection, when I can take care of myself. I am not just a princess, I am a Jedi Knight." Chancellor Palpatine says, "With all due respect, Your Highness, you are one person. Besides we don't know how many people are after you, my dear. I realize all too well that additional security... might be disruptive for you, but perhaps someone you're familiar with. An old friend, like Master Kenobi." Master Windu says, "That's possible. He's just returned from a border dispute on Ansion." Chancellor Palpatine looks at Annalise and says, "Do it for me, milady. Please? The thought of losing you... is unbearable." Annalise sighs and Master Windu looks at Annalise and says, "I will have Obi-Wan report to you immediately, milady." Annalise bows and she says, "Thank you, Master Windu." Later, Annalise is in her courters with Jar Jar, R2, and Captain Typho when Jar Jar says, "Princess Organa. Mesa palos here! Lookie, lookie, Princess. Desa Jedi arriven." Annalise walks over with a smile and Obi-Wan bows with a warm smile, and he says, "It's a great pleasure to see you again, milady." Annalise shakes Obi-Wan's hand, and she says, 'It has been far too long, Master Kenobi." Annalise then looks behind Obi-Wan to see another familiar face and she smiles, "Ani? My goodness, you've grown." Anakin smiles and says, "So have you, grown more beautiful, I mean." Annalise slightly blushes at the compliment. Anakin smiles as he notices the necklace around Annalise's neck is the same one he gave her when he was little. As Annalise walks over to sit down, everyone follows and also sits down. Obi-Wan says, "Our presence here will be invisible, milady, I can assure you." Captain Typho says, "I'm Captain Typho of her majesty's security service. Queen Breha has been informed of your assignment. I am grateful you are here, Master Kenobi. The situation is more dangerous than the princess will admit." Annliase says, "I don't need more security. I need answers. I want to know who's trying to kill me." Obi-Wan says, "We are here to protect you, your highness, not to start an investigation." Anakin says, "We will find out who's trying to kill you, Annalise. I promise you." Annalise smiles. Obi-Wan looks at Anakin and says, "We will not exceed our mandate, my young Padawan learner." Anakin says, "I meant that in the interest of protecting her, Master. Of course." Obi-Wan says, "We will not go through this exercise again, Anakin, and you will pay attention to my lead." Anakin says, "Why?" Obi-Wan says, "What?" Anakin says, "Why else do you think we were assigned to her if not to find the killer? Protection is a job for local security, not Jedi. It's overkill, Master. Investigation is implied in our mandate." Obi-Wan says, "We will do exactly as the council has instructed. And you will learn your place, young one." Annalise says, "Perhaps with merely your presence... the mystery surrounding this threat will be revealed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I will retire." Annalise walks away into her room to rest.
