The next day

Y/n's POV

I was nervous but also excited to face Aonung after our kiss. I still can't believe Aonung got to be my first kiss - it was perfect. I could barely sleep last night because that was all I could think about. I couldn't help but to squeal about it quietly, while hiding my face so nobody would ask questions. I haven't had the courage to tell anyone about the kiss.

I looked at the beach from my pod, looking for Aonung. I couldn't help thinking about how awkward it would be between us after what had happened. He was near the water, laughing with his old friends - the ones that made fun of Kiri and fought with my brothers. My eyebrow twitched at the thought of Aonung still being friends with them even though they made fun of our family. They were horrible and he's still with them having fun.

"Why are you watching my brother?" I jumped, hearing Tsireya's voice. I looked at her to see her smirking at me. "I was not watching him." I lied. "Yes you were. Come on, have you not told him yet?" She crossed her arms. I opened my mouth to speak but got interrupted by someone. "Told who?" Lo'ak asked as he walked to us. "No one!" I quickly said, turning to him. He frowned. "Do you have a crush on someone, y/n?"

"M-No!" I denied, accidentally yelling. "Y/n , I know you like someone - twins can tell these things." He smirked. "Just tell me, I won't tell anyone." I frowned at him. "No, and I don't have a crush on anyone." I lied again. Lo'ak's eyes shifted to Tsireya as he raised an eyebrow. "Does she know?" He pointed at her. "No." I answered. "What are you even doing here Lo'ak?"

He grinned. "I'm here to steal Tsireya." I rolled my eyes as Tsireya blushed. He took her hand, walking past me. "Good luck on your date!" I yelled. "Oh we will!" Lo'ak yelled, not looking back. I looked at his hair and noticed it was tied back slightly. His taste in everything was bad except for girls. I sighed, watching Lo'ak take away the person who I enjoyed talking to.

Someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see it was Aonung. He moved his face closer to mine. My eyes widened at the sight of him being so close again. My heart was pounding faster and I could feel my cheeks turning red. "Hi." He whispered with a small smile. "Hi." I whispered back. His smile grew as he brought his head back. Aonung took my hand and turned it around, making my palm face up.
I watched him as he took something out of his pouch. He took it out, hiding it with his fist and putting it in my palm.

"This is for you." He smiled. I looked down at my hand to see it was an arm bracelet that had white pearls on it. My mouth opened in surprise. "It's beautiful." I smiled, looking up at him. My eyes looked down to his arm bracelet. "Oh it's the same one you have!" I continued to smile. "I know." He grinned. "How do you put it on?" I asked. "We don't have these kinds of bracelets in the forest."

He chuckled and took the bracelet. He opened it and lifted my arm. He put it on me and closed it.
"Like that." He said. "Ohh. Okay that makes sense now." I turned my arm, examining it. He laughed at my response. "Wait, why give it to me?" I asked, looking up at him. He cleared his throat. "In the Metkayina clan, whenever two people like each other, they wear matching accessories to show that." He explained.

"So, we like each other?" I asked, smiling. "Was it not obvious?" He chuckled. "What does that mean then?" I laughed. Aonung paused, slightly smiling. "I guess that means that we ... we are together." I couldn't help but to smile so much after hearing that. Me and Aonung together? No way. "I like the sound of that."

"Good." He laughed, holding my hand.

Time skip

" Do you ever think of the forest?" Kiri asked as we walked down to the beach. "All the time." I answered her. "I kind of wish everything could go back to normal." She mumbled. "Me too. I miss the forest so much." I said.

A hand fell on my shoulder. "Hey Kiri, can I borrow Y/n for like 2 seconds?" Itan asked, standing between me and Kiri. She looked at me then back at him and nodded. She walked away smirking at me. I gave her a 'there's nothing going on between us' face before she left. Itan's hand fell from my shoulder and onto his sides.

"Hey." I spoke. "Hi." He slightly smiled. "So am I supposed to congratulate you on..." his eyes dropped from looking at my face to my arm where the bracelet was. ".. that." He pointed. I laughed. "I guess it's official - you and Aonung I mean." He continued. My eyes widened and I came closer to him in a hurry. How did he know? "Shhh." I put my index finger on my lip, making the shush sign and looked around if anybody heard that. "Please keep it down." I pleaded. "Not fully going public yet?" He asked. I shook my head.

"I'm not allowed to date anyone and If my family finds out, I'm dead. So please don't say anything to anyone about this." I looked around again if anyone was near. Itan grinned. "Sure, of course." Phew. "Thank you." I said.
