"How old are you?" Won Ji-min asked as Min-sik sat down.
"Uh, nineteen," said Min-sik, trying to set down the bowls of food he had carried over.
"In Korean or international age?"
"Ji-min!" said Hye-jin. "Stop interrogating him."
"It's a necessary interrogation," Ji-min reasoned. "Like what happened with Sang-il."
"It's not that necessary—"
"It's necessary," said Sang-il sharply. "If I had to go through it, so does he."
"Why do I have to go through this, exactly?" Min-sik questioned, finally sitting down.
"The character of my mother's significant other's family is important," said Ji-min.
Min-sik bristled at her statement. "What do you mean by that?"
Ji-min softened. "Oh. I, uh, I didn't mean it like that. Sorry."
"Mm. It's okay," said Min-sik. "Fine. Ask away."
"Could you answer the previous question?" Ji-min asked.
"Korean age," said Min-sik reluctantly.
"Your birthday?"
"January 2."
"So, you turn nineteen internationally soon."
"Yeah."
"And twenty in a few days."
"Yep."
"Would you buy me alcohol?"
"Ji-min!" Hye-jin warned.
"No," said Min-sik.
Ji-min nodded. "Good. That was a test. So, you're nineteen. Graduated?"
