emilia hart, 17 years old and an unwilling stars hollow resident. her dad ran off with his other family years ago and her mom is a drunk who sleeps with a different guy every other day. her and rory have been friends since they met in second grade and her other best friend, sofia flores, they've been best friends since birth. unfortunately she's studying abroad their junior year and won't be around until the summer. sofia's boyfriend eric adler has also become a good friend of hers but they haven't been hanging out as much now that sofia is away for the year.
