Chapter 9

Killian's Point of View:

Saturday came at maaga akong nagising dahil sa ingay na nanggaling sa ibaba. I stood up and immediately walked to the bedroom balcony to see mommy and Scarlet training. Mommy’s sharp moves against Scarlet’s soft moves. Scarlet doesn’t know how to use a sword yet; that’s why mommy needs to train her.

I saw how Mommy acted. Polished and fast, and you will actually be the one to adjust to mommy’s speed. Scarlet was able to match mommy’s movements, so I grinned. I leaned against the railings and watched them both wearing sports bras, leggings, and shoes. I saw my dad on the side, working on his laptop while drinking his coffee.

“Killian, come on!” sigaw ni mommy habang sinasalag ang bawat hampas ng espada ni Scarlet. Napangiti ako dahil alam niya na kaagad na nakatingin ako sa kanya. 

“Coming!” natatawang sigaw ko. 

Lumabas ako ng kwarto at agad na bumaba ng hagdanan. Lumabas ako at tumabi kaagad kay daddy. He smiled at me and I smiled at him too. 

“How's your study?” tanong niya. “No bullies? Sinabi ko na sa inyo ’yan. God, I learned the hard way because of your mom.” Sinuklay niya ang kanyang buhok habang tumatawa. 

“Well, hindi maiiwasan pero diretso sila sa office kapag nangyari ’yon. Aside from that, maayos naman ang mga teachers sa school. We learned a lot,” paliwanag ko. 

“I heard from Jamillah na sinusungitan mo ang mga babae doom expect sa isa?” Nang-aasar na agad ang tono ni daddy. “May nagugustuhan ka na ba sa school?”

“Dad, come on!” Nakangiwing sabi ko sa kanya kaya natawa s’ya. “Don’t tease me with girls. Mas gusto ko pang mabilhan ako ni mommy ng kotse!”

“At hindi rin naman kita papayagan na magkaroon ng girlfriend, Killian. You need to be thirty and I will allow you,” sabi ni mommy at kumindat.  

Pareho kaming natawa at pinanood sila mommy. Scarlet was having a hard time learning how to use a samurai. Her forehead is wrinkled, and I can feel that she is annoyed. Ilang linggo na s’yang nag-t-training pero hindi niya pa rin nakukuha ang tamang atake.

“Love, it’s okay. Alam naman natin na hindi madali ang paggamit ng espada kaya nga lang, kailangan mong matutunan ito. I want you to be ready,” mahinahon na sabi ni mommy. 

“Mommy, ilang linggo na po tayo dito at si kuya lang ang magaling dito. Hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi ito itinuro sa ‘kin nung nasa Spain tayo,” sabi ni Scarlet. 

Mommy smiled. “Dahil gusto kong ako ang mag-eensayo sa ‘yo.”

Tumango ako dahil kutsilyo lang ang itinuro sa kanya noon. Scarlet was only taught the basics because her training period was a bit short dahil sa huli, si mommy ang magtuturo sa kanya. Unlike me, everything was taught because the people there are strict when it comes to their soldiers. I stood up and sighed, so Scarlet looked at me. I grabbed her sword and nodded at her.

“You need to learn, Snow. Kailangan mong matuto,” mariin kong sabi. Matalim ko s’yang tinignan. “Serás miserable si no aprendes. ¿Quieres estar delante de ti antes de que te apresures?”

Translation: “You will be miserable if you don’t learn. Do you want to be ahead of you before they rush?”

“Nunca pruebes mis capacidades. Soy la Dama Imperio,” malamig na sabi niya. 

Translation: “Don’t you ever test my capabilities. I'm the Lady Empire.”

I smiled. “Then prove it.”
