STILL IN HER pajamas, Aster walked out of the guest room in Rhodey's apartment that Saturday morning. She yawned and walked into the kitchen, not expecting to see a familiar face having coffee with him in the living room.
She froze, rubbing her eyes to make sure she wasn't dreaming. "Pepper?"
Pepper and Rhodey stopped their hushed conversation to turn toward her. Pepper warmly smiled, standing to greet her. "Hi, sweetheart."
Even though she was shocked, Aster still reciprocated Pepper's hug. She hadn't seen her since she and Tony broke up over a year prior.
"I didn't know you were back in New York," Aster breath with a smile on her face.
