Once the whole thing between me and Isaac has settled, bigla namang bumilis ang takbo ng panahon. We were both busy with completing various tasks for our courses and OJT/Internship stuff. Kinabukasan agad ng araw na nakapag-usap kami ay tinulungan niya akong mag-reply sa hospital sa Manila na gusto akong kunin. They replied immediately after an hour and because of that nagkaroon ako kaagad ng aasikasuhin.
The hospital wants me to start as early as possible pero dahil may subject pa akong natitira ay kinakailangan din nilang mag-adjust sa part nila. Dahil din don ay mas hahaba ng kaunting weeks ang internship ko. Isaac helped me acquire all the necessary requirements from school and with the help of Kuya Dale, who happens to be around the vicinity of Marinduque, naipasa ko kaagad ang requirements na need sa Manila.
Now, I am helping Isaac to secure a spot in one of the hospitals here, as a way of giving back to him.
"Nagreply na ba ang mga inemail nating hospital?" tanong ko habang palabas kami ng campus.
"Hindi pa." sabi niya habang umiiling.
"What is taking them so long to reply? You are one of the top students of the university. Dapat nga nag-aagawan na sila sayo. Offering you not only academic internship but also paid one." rant ko.
"Baka sa tingin nila nakuha na ako ng mas malapit na hospital." he shrugged and I furrowed my brows. "Huwag kang mag-alala, sabi naman ni Doc Gonzales ay i-eendorse niya daw ako sa may hospital sa bayan."
"I know that but still. Hindi ka nila dapat pinapahirapan. They are throwing away a good potential nurse as of the moment." sagot ko.
Napansin ko ang paglawak ng ngiti niya kaya kumunot muli ang noo ko. He connected our hands together and he pulled me closer to him.
"Why are you happy?"
"Wala lang." nakangiting sagot niya at umiling naman ako sa kawirduhan niya.
"Okay, let's go na. I will be with Lola at may pupuntahan kami sa bayan." pagbibigay-alam ko sa kanya at tumango naman siya tsaka kami nagpatuloy sa paglalakad.
Two days have passed and I am reviewing for our final test tomorrow. Sa makalawa na rin ang luwas ko sa Manila. All of my things are already packed at pupunta na dito si Kuya Ajeer upang sunduin ako. Medyo nagtaka pa nga ako kung bakit si Kuya Ajeer ang magsusundo sa akin but it seems like something is happening there. They just don't want to find out about it just yet.
"Your Kuya Ajeer will pick you up there in Marinduque." saad ni Mommy ng tumawag ako sa kanya kagabi.
"Why?"
"What do you mean why?" balik na tanong sa akin ni Mommy.
"Is Kuya Gio not available? Is something happening? Ate Corrine can't be bothered and she is not answering my calls." medyo malakas na saad ko.
"Everything's fine, iha. Your Ate Corrine is just busy with Keith at busy din ang Kuya Gio mo. Ajeer is the only one available." paliwanag niya pero there is something in her voice that I don't trust.
"Okay. Tell Kuya Ajeer then to call me if he was near na." saad ko at sumang-ayon naman si Mommy dito.
Now, I am here at the shop with Isaac who is currently reviewing as well for our finals. Bumalik kami sa dati naming nakasanayan and I couldn't even be more happier. I think we will be alright. It's not like we will not be in touch kapag nasa Manila na ako.
"Paano nga pala tayo mag-uusap kapag nasa Manila na ako?" tanong ko sa kanya at napatigil naman siya sa pagbabasa.
Umupo siya ng maayos sa tabi ko at inayos ang suot niyang salamin. He looks like he is in deep thought.
