Shawn Mendes Imagine

My pen marked all over my page of writing as I harshly fell onto the floor. Laughter and snickering arose from the crowd of students passing by, a few pointing at my mishap.
I took in a deep breath and calmly recollected my books.

I winced received kick in the side, but I didn't the gesture stop me from regaining my posture.

Once all my books were in place, I set them down neatly on the ground before facing him.

"Can I help you, dumbass? I mean, Mendes?"
The group of students watching us oohed as a background noise.

"Yeah I need a punching bag, and it seems you're the right size."
More ooo's went around.

"Why do you need a punching bag? You don't have muscles."

Someone from the outermost ring of the crowd shouted "shots fired!"

"Wanna see about that?" I kept a straight face and didn't say anything nice at first, knowing he was just making a fool of himself.

"Yeah, let's do it, little girl." It was visible he gritted his teeth under my comment, trying to block it out.

He got his fists ready against his side and I did as well. He moved to throw the first punch, which was an easy mistake.

I caught his fist before it slammed into my flesh, and his facial expressions showed he was shocked at what I can do.

Using his state to my advantage, I swept my leg under his knees and he nearly fell, but caught himself in the last moment.

"That's it..." He groaned, standing straight up again and started running at me. I simply moved to my right as he did that, his body falling onto the metal lockers.

People mumbled an ouch as he slid down them, slumping to the ground. I walked over, peering down at his now frail body.

"Maybe what you need is some karate lessons."

"Why didn't you hate me after that?" I suddenly asked, taking the bowl of popcorn away from his grasp.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. I wanted to beat your ass after that but something made me want to figure you out. I still haven't."
I didn't reply right away as I swallowed the popcorn I was chewing.

"Shawn, it's been four years. That happened in freshman year." He rolled his eyes in response and I lightly laughed.

We were currently watching Mall Cop but talking through it at parts we got bored with.

"I'm glad that didn't happened this year. I'd be dead right now." He joked, though he knew it was true, and moved in closer.

"I think you know now not to beat up girls who take karate." I giggled quietly, snuggling into his warmth as there was a fair chill in my house.

"Well, I'm just glad we're best friends." I felt him heave a sigh as the words came out of my mouth.

"Yeah, just friends..."
