Chapter 33

I smiled around at the twenty left. "Alright, we're going to start the second test," I declared. "First, have you all had enough to eat and drink?"

They all nodded.

"Wonderful. Everyone, grab a bottle of water and sit down."

After everyone was seated, Ren explained the test. "This is going to be more like a mock quiz."

That made several students nervous. Having only seven seconds to answer a question correctly is fairly difficult.

We went through and it was soon clear who was good enough for our team.

Darren and I conversed and he agreed with me.

I announced the five picks, "Katherine Mable, Vance Golding, Anne Chaser, Everlynn Drake, and Sage Meels. You five made it in."

The other fifteen grumbled disappointedly and left.

I passed out badges to each new team member. "Come on, practice starts in fifteen minutes and we don't want to be late."

Their eyes widened and they scrambled after me as I made my way out of the building. A limo was waiting with my chauffeur driving. We climbed in.

"Mr. Parker, Michelle is requesting to meet the new team members," Darren said.

I hummed with a small smile. "Tell her she's always welcome and that job offer is still open."

Ren typed away and I turned to the five students. "So, what ages are you, what are your pronouns, and what are your preferred names?" I asked.

"Umm, I'm Katherine, but I go by Katie. My pronouns are she/her, and I'm a freshman," said the girl who first turned in her paper.

"I'm Vance. My pronouns are he/him, and I'm a sophomore," the boy who also finished faster said.

"I'm Sage. My pronouns at the moment are he/him. I am a sophomore."

"My name is Everlynn, but I go by Lynn. My pronouns are she/her. I'm a junior."

"Anne. I'm a junior and my pronouns are she/they."

I smiled. "I'm Peter. My pronouns are he/him."

"Darren or Ren. He/him."

We got to the tower and I led them through security, explaining how everything works. They each signed NDAs and we got to the floor which had been Harley's floor which had been converted to the AcaDeca's floor when Harley moved in with me.

MJ was already waiting for us, as was the rest of the team. Wade and Gwen were also there.

We went over introductions again.

MJ looked over each with a critical eye. She turned to me. "I'll take you up on that offer," she said.

I grinned. I had asked her to be my PR agent. "You'll need an assistant," I said.

"I'll figure it out."

I smiled. "Let's get started, yeah?"
