I swam back over to Dallas and the gang that was around Two-bit, Darry, Soda, and Steve.
I jumped on Dally's back wrapping my arms around his neck
"Why did you let me fall, I could have beat his ass" I said rolling my eyes
"Because it was funny to see you fall in" he said laughing as he grabbed the back of my thighs to hold me up
"Whatever I'll beat him next time" I laughed
"Yeah" he said
They were about to start so we again did the countdown
"3 2 1 go!" We all said
Two-bit was on Darry's shoulders and Steve and Soda were the same they were when me and them fought
"Two-bit, Darry you guys better push there asses down" I said looking at them
"You got it" Darry said back laughing whilst Two just focused on geting Steve down
My brother was struggling at staying up which caused me to laugh
Steve just shot daggers at me with his eyes and continued fighing.
After a few minutes Steve fell backwards causing me to burst out laughing
"Good job Darry and Two-bit I knew you could beat my brother" I laughed
"Thanks Gracie" they laughed and Two got off of Darry's shoulders.
I was still on Dally's shoulders
"Ok you can let me down now Dal" I said softly
"I don't wanna though" I could feel the smirk on his face
"Ugh fine" I fake groaned and laughed
Dallas took me over to the rest of the gang talking about god knows what
After a while of talking Two-bit gave me and Dal a weird look
"What's been going on with you two" he pointed in between me and Dally
"Huh" I said confusedly
"You guys always hang out and act like you guys are dating and your on his back right now" he said smirking a bit and the gang agreed
"One we are just friends, two we are not dating and plus friends can hang out and being on his back doesn't even matter, you were on Darrys back so does that mean your dating him" I said in one breath while Dallas just held onto me and smirked.
Two-bit made kissing sounds at Darry which made us all burst out laughing whilst Darry smacked him away
After a few more hours of hanging out with the gang, water fights, and Two-bit teasing me and Dally we finally got ready to head back.
"We should probably head back now guys the sun is going down" said Darry geting ready to get out of the water
"10 more minutes!" The boys whined
"Fine" Darry laughed and went to put the cooler up
I swam to the dock and sat on the edge
The sky begain to become light pinks oranges and yellows.
The sunset.
One of my favorite times of the day.
Every day I would watch the sunset.
Sometimes I would climb to the roof and watch the stars if I stayed up late enough.
As I continued watching the sky I didn't even notice Ponyboy sit down next to me.
"Do you like sunsets to?" Pony said
I jumped up a bit, startled by his sudden appearance
"Sorry didn't mean to scare ya" Pony apologized, giving a small smile
"Its alright and yeah I love sunsets, there one of my favorite things in the world" I said smiling, breaking the eye contact to look back to the sky
"Really?, me too!" Pony said with excitement in his voice, from the corner of my eyes I seen his light up at my answer which made me smile
"Mhm I watch them every day when I have the chance" I said back returning the excitement
"Me too" his eyes drifted back to the sunset
We sat there for about 10 minutes in silence, not the awkward silence but the peaceful silence between two close friends.
After the sun went fully down Darry said it was actually time to go now since the sun was gone.
The boys whined a bit but all got back in the truck.
I climbed in the bed of the truck, grabbed one of the towels and wrapped it around me before setting down.
The ride home was peaceful and nice.
I began to doze off into a peaceful sleep from exhaustion.
