"Gracie wake up." I heard my brother say

I rolled onto my stomach on the couch, holding onto the pillow my eyes still closed

I let out a little grunt before replying

"Why. I wanna sleep"

I said in an overly annoyed tone

"Because everybody wants to go to the drive-in, well except Darry since he has to work" (justice for mother Darry😿)

I let out another grunt in reply and heard Dallas and Two-bit snickering in the background

Suddenly I was being rolled off the couch by Steve

I let out a yelp and tried grabbing onto my blanket which did nothing except fall with me to the floor.

"Thanks so much for that Steven" I sighed with a roll of my eyes

He laughed before replying with an overly nice "your welcome"

"Do I have to go?" I dragged out still laying on the floor staring at the ceiling

He let out a sigh before replying yes.

"Whatever when are we even going?"

"Whenever you get dressed and ready" he huffed

"Fine"

I arrived back to the curtis' house after about twenty minutes

"I'm ready now" I spoke as I walked into the living room to see everyone ready except Darry

They all rushed to the truck whilst I just stayed put for a moment

"You sure you don't wanna go Dar? You need a little break" I spoke with a softer tone

He looked up from the paper with a caring smile before speaking

"Its alright Gracie I have work tomorrow and plus I could use some alone time. Be careful and stay outta trouble okay?"

He said with the same soft tone from earlier

"Okay well have fun and try and relax see you later Dar"

"Alrighty, bye Gracie" he gave a small smile before going back to the newspaper

I gave a smile and waved before walking put to the truck, letting the screen door close behind me

"Jesus could you have took any longer?" Dallas said

I smacked him behind the head lightly before climbing into the bed of the truck

"Matter of fact I could so let's get going before I changed my mind" I glared at Dally and Steve.

Dally just grinned and sat besides me while everyone got in and Steve drove off towards the drive in.

We snuck in after parking the truck about a block down from the drive-in

After we snuck through the little hole under the gate we all sat down, Dallas on the left side of me and Johnny on the right.

I forgot to mention but me and Johnny have became more closer since I started hanging out.

I tell him everything that happens, same with him to me

Ponyboy was on the other side of Johnny and Two-bit, Steve, and Soda were in the row behind us.

It was one of those stupid beach movies playing, like usual so I mostly zoned out even though it was just starting

I let out a little sigh which caused Dally to look over

"Awe what's wrong sweetheart, don't like the movie?" He said in a teasing way as he eyed me down

I rolled my eyes and slumped in my seat a bit crossing my arms

"No I hate these ones, there so boring" I spoke in an activated tone as I looked forward

"Hm well what's so boring about them?" He taunted once again, his hand slowly slipped onto my thigh without me noticing nor anyone else

I rolled my eyes for what felt the millionth time today before responding

"There basically only about sex and some girl flashing her tits in the water by somehow losing her bikini top." I huffed out

(Idk I havent watched one if those movies in years so I made sum up🤷‍♀️)

I looked over to see him smirking at my annoyance

I just noticed he was drawing little patterns on my thigh with his thumb

I looked back forwards as a light blush faded over my face and butterflies danced in my stomach

'I can't fall for the Dallas Winston' I told myself even though I didn't believe it
