"He said what?" Yeonjun turned the nearby lamp on to see Kai's hands better. "No way."

I'm not joking, hyung. Kai's eyes shone with mirth, even in the semi-darkness. His hair fell into his eyes, and Yeonjun's hands itched to reach out and tuck it behind his ear. There was something domestic about seeing his boyfriend in one of his old hoodies, holding a plushie on his lap and discussing with him their plans for tomorrow.

"Dude." Taehyun's voice came from the small phone propped up on the bed between them. "I'm still here, you know? Stop looking at him like that."

Yeonjun flushed, feeling the heat creep up his neck. He might've been shameless with anyone else, but around Taehyun he always felt like he had to be careful – the boy was a little too good at pranks and blackmail, like the one time he screenshotted Yeonjun's whipped face and then printed over two dozen copies to tack up everywhere randomly in Kai's room. They were still finding them behind random things — just a normal sheet of paper, with Yeonjun's face on it, looking like his jaw was ready to drop to the floor, his eyes misted over.

There was no question about who he was looking at like that.

"So." Beomgyu's face popped up over Taehyun's left shoulder. They looked like they were chilling in bed, watching a movie, when Kai and Yeonjun had interrupted with their call.

"So we're getting Soobin a pet."

And Heeseung said he knows a place that has baby hedgehogs up for adoption.

Taehyun looked contemplative for a few moments, before shrugging. "I'm in. Prickly and cute – that seems to suit hyung well."

Beomgyu nodded. "I like the pet idea. Let's just replace Kai with a hedgehog. Do you think Soobin will notice?" Despite the obvious sarcasm, his hand traced circles over Taehyun's – a clear sign of his agreement. (When they disagreed, they fought like cats and dogs)

"Hyuka is way cuter than a hedgehog. I think he might notice."

Kai hit his shoulder, and Yeonjun ducked out of the camera's view as another smile split his face. There was no way he was getting caught by Taehyun twice.

"Yo!" Beomgyu's voice sounded loud and clear trhough the speaker. "Stop flirting for two seconds. We'd like to get back to our movie sometime in the next two millenia."

Too bad. Kai stuck his tongue out at him, and Taehyun faked a gasp.

"Oh no! He's been corrupted!"

And as the two dissolved into giggles, Beomgyu and Yeonjun signed silently, deciding on the time and place they would meet to pick out Soobin's new prickly roommate. They were used to the younger boys' antics.

All right, see you tomorrow. Beomgyu finally signed, finger immediately moving to hover over the 'end call' button.

Tomorrow. Yeonjun answered, waiting for the screen to go black before tackling Kai into a giant hug, kissing his face until the giggles turned into hiccups, and Soobin was banning on the wall for them to shut up.

As the lamp flickered off, they lay together in the darkness, their limbs twisted together in one big tangle, breathing heavily.

Kai's eyes shone in the dark, a flame alight in them. Yeonjun couldn't look away, knowing somewhere in the back of his mind that if Taehyun ever saw this he wouldn't hear the end of it for the next few decades.

But what did it matter, when Kai's hands settled on the back of his neck, drawing him down for a kiss, smiling into it as the setting sun was replaced by the moon, and night fell.
