Kai knew something was wrong when he pulled into the parking lot, and the lights on the cafe were dimmed, and a closed sign hung on the door.

But he didn't worry much – most likely, Yeonjun had decided to close up early to welcome the Huening sisters visiting.

It wasn't often that they had a synced break at their respective Universities in the US that weren't overshadowed by huge testing periods, but this was one of those few times, and instead of going home, they had decided to spend those few days with Kai and Yeonjun.

So Kai didn't blame Yeonjun for closing early. He would have done the same, had he been the one staying behind.

He opened the door, getting out of the car, and felt Lea's hand on his back, and Bahiyyih's settling on his shoulder. They were both giggling about something, exchanging secretive glances. Kai was used to this, and ignored them both, rolling his eyes and taking out one of Yeonjun's jackets from his car. The evening wind was cold, and Lea had made them all stop to get ice coffees on the way home, so he was thoroughly freezing.

"Aww." Bahiyyih immediately teased him. "I wonder where I've seen this jacket from before." She poked at her younger brother, grinning wide when he blushed. "And that shirt, too." She noticed. "I don't recall you listening to girl's generation, Kai-yah."

"Come on guys, let's go inside. It's freezing out here." Lea grumbled, pocketing her phone as she shot off a text. When she thought Kai wasn't looking (he most certainly was) she winked at Bahiyyih.

Rolling his eyes for what felt like the millionth time, Kai set off towards the front door at a brisk pace, his sisters catching up a few seconds later, still laughing about something.

They walked him to the front door, and almost as soon as his hand settled on the door handle, ready to push it open, they both let go of him, pointing back at the car.

"Go on without us!" Lea said, glancing at Bahiyyih a little panickedly.

"We.. erm... forgot the ..."

"STARBUCKS DRINKS!" Lea blurted.

Both of you?

"Yes!"

I"ll go get them for you, go on without me.

"NO!"

I swear to god, if there's a bucket of glitter rigged to fall on the first person that walks in, I'm never speaking to any of you again.

His sisters snorted, remembering the glitter incident. "There's no glitter." They assured.

Then?

"Just... just go in. Please?"

And... It's been a long day. Sighing, Kai pushed open the door to his cafe, stepping in, a hand reaching for the light switch he knew was located right by the door.

Before he could flick it on, however, a hand caught his, fingers wrapping around his wrist, stopping him from flooding the room with light.

Kai froze, before realizing who it was, and relaxing. He turned to squint at his boyfriend through the darkness, and when their eyes met, Yeonjun released his hand, letting Kai turn the lights on.

However, when he finally flicked the switch, instead of the overhead lamps turning on, all around the room, small blue, purple, pink strands of fairy lights washed the cafe in hues of lighting.

There were no tables, no chairs in the cafe. The room had been completely transformed, with a collage of photos, post-it notes and small drawings filling the walls of the cafe.
