𝑳𝑰𝑨 was standing off to the side as Queen Amidala sat proudly on her throne, her figure staying still and tall. A hologram of Nute Gunray, Viceroy of the Trade Federation, was visible.

"Again you come before us, Your Highness." Nute said

He bowed deeply to the young queen.

"You will not be so pleased when you hear what I have to say, Viceroy. Your trade boycott of our planet has ended." Queen Amidala said

Nute turned to his counterpart and smirked at the grey alien next to him, heavily pleased at the news.

"I was not aware of such failure." Nute said

Lia glared at the figures on the hologram. She didn't trust them and their sneaky politics. She never liked the Trade Federation to begin with. Something about the way they always had something up their sleeve, or how they always played both sides of the galaxy for their own greed.

"I have word that the chancellor's ambassadors are with you now, and that you have been commanded to reach a settlement." Queen Amidala said

"I know nothing of any ambassadors. You must be mistaken." Nute claimed

"Beware, Viceroy. The Federation has gone too far this time." Queen Amidala said

"We would never do anything without the approval of the Senate. You assume too much." Nute said

The Queen spared one more hatred filled glance towards the pair of aliens.

"We will see." Queen Amidala said

And with that, the young Queen of Naboo signed off.

❤️

The Queen and her six handmaidens made their way through the hallways. Lia, Padmé's twin and primary decoy, walked closest to the young queen.

"I don't like this, sister." Lia mumbled

A shiver ran up her spine and she shook it off.

"And I certainly don't trust the Federation, Your Majesty." Lia said

"Me neither." Padmé agreed, softly

The Queen and her handmaidens headed towards a smaller room where Sio Bibble, the Governor, Captain Panaka, and a few other officials were waiting for them. The Queen sat down and her handmaidens all followed suit. A hologram of Senator Palpatine was stationed in the middle of the room. Queen Amidala quickly filled the senator in on what they had discovered.

"Negotiations haven't started because the ambassadors aren't there? How could that be true? I have assurances from the Chancellor his Ambassadors did arrive. It must be the... get... negotiate... ambassadors..." Palpatine started

The hologram of Palpatine sputtered and faded away.

"Senator Palpatine." Queen Amidala called

When the senator did not reappear again, she turned to Captain Panaka.

"What's happening?" Queen Amidala questioned

Lia looked at the other handmaidens in concern and they looked back equally concerned. Captain Panaka turned to his sergeant.

"Check the transmission generator." Panaka instructed

"A communications disruption can mean only one thing: invasion." Bibble stated

"The Federation would not dare go that far." Queen Amidala said, confidently

Lia wished she could have the same confidence her sister had, but somehow, she knew her twin was wrong this time.

"The Senate would revoke their trade franchise, and they'd be finished." Panaka said

"We must continue to rely on negotiation." Queen Amidala decided

She looked around at her subjects.

"Negotiation? We've lost all communications. And where are the Chancellor's ambassadors?" Bibble asked

"This is a dangerous situation, Your Highness. Our security volunteers will be no match against a battle-hardened Federation army." Panaka stated

"I will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war." Queen Amidala replied, stubbornly

This caused an end to the discussion.

❤️

Later, Lia saw her sister standing by a window, watching the invasion begin. Lia walked up to Padmé and bowed deeply.

"My queen." Lia said

Padmé turned to her sister.

"I believe we should speak in private." Lia stated

Padmé looked out the window one last time before nodding in agreement.

❤️

The sisters were now alone in Padmé and Lia's rom.

"I think we need to switch roles, Padmé. My gut is telling me that something is going to happen." Lia said

"If you think it's necessary, then I trust your judgement. You've never been wrong before, Mal." Padmé agreed

"For all of our sakes, I hope I am this time." Lia said, grimly

She turned and gazed out of the window, seeing the invaders.

"But we will get through whatever is thrown at us." Lia said

"Always." Padmé started

She smiled slightly.

"And forever." Lia finished
