Delight had been staring through the window for long. She watched as the rain poured down nonstop. At last, she sighed and looked away from it. Then, she walked to her bed and sat down. Longer than a moment, she stared at her phone and debated whether to call him again or to let him be. Delight was worried about him. Yes, he said he was at a friend's but that wasn't settling fine with her. Especially because he never once mentioned this friend before. She didn't even get his name. Also, when he left her sister's salon, he told her he was going home. So, this sudden detour bothered her. She didn't want to be that girl. The one who hovers over everything her boyfriend did.

Delight shook her head at her trailing thoughts. She was ridiculously spiralling. Andrew wasn't like that. He wasn't the type to lie or cheat on her. That was one of the reasons why she liked him in the first place. A part of the reason why she fell in love with him. Although Andrew hasn't once told her he loves her. Nonetheless, she was sure of her feelings and the fact that he would soon come to say those words to her. He was what anyone would call husband material and he was perfect for her.

The door opened and her older sister popped her head in.

"You're still awake. Why?"

Delight properly turned to her from where she sat on the bed. "I should be asking you that. Why haven't you slept?"

Maria sighed before walking into the room. "Kingsley is not back and he's not answering my calls."

Delight momentarily looked away from her sister as her lips stretched, forming a thin line. A thought ran across her mind. A somewhat possible explanation but for her sister's sake. She wasn't going to run with it.

"Do you think he's with another woman?"

Delight was on her feet, meeting up with Maria. "Ah-ah Sister Maria! No nah. He couldn't. He wouldn't dare. Abeg, don't think like that."

Maria sighed again. Her expression was clear evidence that she wasn't buying into her younger sister's words.

"I don't know. Sometimes, that's how I feel. That's what I think. After all, that's how we came into a relationship."

"Ehn, true. But this is different. His old wife didn't show him the care and respect you give him. You also gave him a son. He has no reason to want another woman."

A moment of silence lasted between the two. Delight watched her sister, hoping her words were enough to spin her out of her head. Maria on the other hand wasn't quite convinced but she was going to give in to her sister's words anyways.

"You're right... After all, it won't change anything even if he has a few women out there. Unlike Ijeawele, I will never give up my position as his only wife." Her smile that followed was broad, brief and fake. Delight nodded to her words, glad that train of thoughts kept her sister senile. They were tough women. Women who have survived the worst and always found a way to get what they want.

"Good night," Maria said while on her way to the door. "Good night." Delight replied and watched her sister walk out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Delight sighed once again. Unlike her sister willing to accept another woman clinging to her husband, she on the other hand would rather die than see that happen.

Andrew had offered a helping hand. They'd settled for pasta and stew. She didn't think it needed four hands to make. So, she told him he could clean up afterwards. He accepted. It didn't take long for the pasta to boil before she heated some of the frozen stew. Andrew helped by carrying his plate of serving from the kitchen to the dining table. They sat across from each other.
