The revelation hit everyone like a lightning bolt, leaving them in a state of shock that was hard to process.

"Vergil and Mira are..." Gray's voice trailed off, his own astonishment echoing in his words.

The group found themselves in a tense standoff with Laxus, aware that any sudden move could trigger a dangerous response from him, considering his proximity to Mira.

Evergreen's voice cut through the silence as she elaborated on the dire situation. "If you want these girls to return to normal, then you must defeat all four of us," she declared with a mischievous smirk, her tone oozing with confidence.

"Let's see, there are four of us and a hundred of you," Bickslow chimed in, his eerie totems repeating his words in an unsettling chorus.

"You have three hours, and if you don't defeat us by then, they'll turn to dust," Evergreen added, shocking everyone even further with the gravity of the consequences.

Laxus clarified the rules, indicating that the battlefield would be the entirety of Magnolia. "When you find us, the battle will begin," he explained, his grip tightening around Mira.

The collective rage of Natsu, Makarov, and Vergil exploded in response. Natsu charged at Laxus, attempting an attack, only to be swiftly incapacitated by Laxus's power.

"Doesn't he ever learn?" Warren mumbled, his words resonating with Gray's agreement.

"Laxus, you're making a grave mistake," Mira warned, her glare radiating intense determination. Laxus, however, scoffed at her and spoke confidently, "Don't glare at me, woman. I know what I'm doing."

Makarov and Vergil's anger erupted simultaneously as their powers surged. Makarov's form expanded into his giant stature, while Vergil tapped into his Devil Trigger, both poised for a forceful counterattack.

"Enough of this madness! Cease it now!" Makarov and Vergil's voices thundered as they demanded an end to the chaos.

Laxus, undeterred, maintained a smirking facade. "Now, now, cool your jets. It's all part of the entertainment for a festival, you see?" he taunted with a self-assured grin.

He then employed his lightning to create a blinding flash, disorienting everyone present. As the brilliance faded, Laxus, Mira, and the rest of the Thunder Tribe had vanished without a trace.

"Where did they go? We're stuck in this city forced to play this ridiculous game of tag!" Gray yelled, frustration evident in his voice.

"Damn it! We need to rescue my sister and the others!" Elfman's determination blazed as everyone rallied, rushing out of the guild hall to confront the Thunder Tribe. Vergil returned to his human form, heading straight to the guild master, Makarov.

"Master, if I confront Laxus, his life may be in jeopardy. He has taken someone I hold dear. Please... hold me back," Vergil implored, his eyes glowing with intensity. The sight of such anger in Vergil was a sight Makarov had never witnessed before, sending chills down his spine.

Makarov hummed and nodded, sensing the gravity of the situation. "That reckless fool... I'll try to restrain you," he agreed, preparing to accompany Vergil to face Laxus. Their intention to leave the guild hall was met with an unexpected barrier.

"Grandpa!" Gray called out, worry etching his features as Makarov and Vergil encountered an invisible barrier that halted their movement.

Lancia broke free from her paralysis, rushing to her grandfather's side. "Grandpa, what's happening?" Her voice trembled with concern, her eyes darting to her petrified friends and Mira.
