Vergil and Mira had just departed, leaving only the dragon slayers, Levy, Laxus, and Lancia in the cathedral.

Lancia's gaze burned with anger upon hearing Laxus's words about their grandfather. She began to approach him with measured steps, her rage palpable.

"Sis... I don't want to fight you," Laxus pleaded, taking a cautious step back, but Lancia's fury showed no sign of abating.

"Too late," she hissed, suddenly appearing in front of him. In a swift, fluid motion, she launched an uppercut that sent Laxus hurtling upwards, crashing through the cathedral's ceiling and landing on the roof.

Natsu, still struggling to rise, implored Lancia, "Lance, stay out of this."

Ignoring his plea, Lancia materialized on the roof, ready to confront her brother, who clenched his teeth in determination.

"Fine! If you're not by my side, then get lost!" Laxus bellowed as he gathered lightning energy into his fist.

Lightning Dragons Breakdown Fist! He yelled sending a fist full of lightning towards lancia.

Lancia, equally resolute, responded with her own dark lightning-infused punch.

Their fists collided with a thunderous impact, creating shockwaves that reverberated throughout the city, causing tiles to be ripped from the roof by the sheer force of their clash.

They both leaped back, creating some space between them. In a lightning-fast movement, Laxus materialized right in front of Lancia, pulling his hands back, poised to unleash a devastating punch.

Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist! Laxus roared as he lunged forward, his punch aimed at her. However, to his shock, his fist passed right through her, leaving him wide-eyed with disbelief. It was then that he heard Lancia's voice behind him.

"Too slow," she taunted. In an instant, she delivered an axe kick to the back of his head, sending him hurtling through the cathedral's roof and crashing down into the building below. The impact cracked the floor and created a massive crater.

From the depths of the crater, Laxus looked up just in time to see Lancia hurling an orb of black lightning towards him.

Lightning Devil's Electro Sphere! she cried out. The orb exploded upon contact with Laxus, generating a colossal burst of lightning that sent debris scattering in every direction.

Laxus burst out of the rubble with incredible speed, landing a powerful punch to Lancia's gut that sent her hurtling through the air.

Before Lancia could regain her composure, Laxus appeared right in front of her, drawing in a deep breath as his magical power surged, causing lightning to crackle wildly around him.

"Dragon magic is the natural weakness of devil magic, right? Let's test that theory!" Laxus declared with a wicked smile as his power continued to escalate. Lancia's eyes widened in realization.

Lightning Dragon's Roar! Laxus roared, unleashing a colossal and destructive burst of lightning energy point-blank at Lancia.

"Lance!" Natsu shouted in alarm as he watched her get engulfed by the lightning.

"Wait, look!" Gajeel exclaimed, pointing to the lightning blast.

To their astonishment, the lightning attack began to be drawn into a swirling vortex, and it became apparent that Lancia was absorbing Laxus's formidable attack. This development left both the dragon slayers and Laxus in shock.

"How? You shouldn't be able to do that!" Laxus yelled, desperately trying to halt her absorption as Lancia kicked him away and began coughing up blood.

"You fool... do you understand how dangerous that is!?" Laxus shouted, his concern for his little sister overriding their current enmity.
