Ayesha.
The walk-in closet had it's lights switched off which probably only provided him a view to my silhouette as I stepped away from the door
It's ok. I won't do anything stupid. I thought and took baby steps to reach him and finally kept my hand in his large and warm ones
"You are such a mess." He muttered and all my nervousness flew out of the window while I glared at him
"Did I ask your opinion?" I questioned frowning but instead of replying he turned me around and started draping the red banarasi saree around my waist.
His fingers brushed against my skin and breath fanned over my neck while my back was firmly pressed against his chest. This felt intimate and I couldn't bear any kind of intimacy with him but do I have a choice? No.
"Calm down." He whispered softly kissing me on my temple and I actually felt my wrecking nerves calming under his soft touch
He knelt before me and adjusted the plaits of my saree correctly but my thoughts turned gross, actually unholy. Calm The Fuck Down. I berated myself but I really couldn't stop myself from getting goosebumps or that stupid blush which covered my face. I swear to God.
He looked so busy with my saree that he didn't spare me a glance which allowed me to stare at him and this man was soo finely made that it hurts to push him away but he shouldn't have done what he did.
He tucked the plaits after he was done adjusting them and when he tried to pin them securely on my waist, the pin ended up piercing through my skin causing me to flinch back and it went deeper
"Ouch!" I felt stinging pain in my waist skin when he slowly pulled the pin out and rushed to get a first aid to clean the little blood I saw through the mirror
He sat on the ottoman stool and pulled me closer to treat my wound, the small cut didn't give me those goosebumps that his breath brushing against my bare skin gave
"I am sorry." He kept whispering it like a holy chant while he applied disinfectant on the small cut the pin made
"It's ok." I mumbled and he looked up at me for a moment before he rested his forehead on my belly pulling me closer. I didn't resist, I wanted to let him have a moment to realise that I am not as much injured, I am just fine.
He kissed me on my belly before he got up and with utter tenderness he pinned my plaits placing his hand between the plaits and my skin.
"It's done." He pinned my pallu on my shoulder and looked at me in the eye through our reflection which sucked all the oxygen out of my lungs. I am supposed to hate him! I licked my lower lip before I nodded stepping away from him
"Give me a minute. I will readjust my hairdo and makeup." I requested while I fumbled with my hair because I felt nervous under his scrutinized gaze.
"Mr. Rajvansh, stop staring!" I hissed while I continued to tye my hair in a French braid and he continued to stare at me. Bastard. I wanted to say that loud but I couldn't muster up the courage to say that after the stunt he pulled sometime ago.
"I am sorry." He said when I was done with my hairdo, for a second I looked at him and concluded that I heard it wrong so I continued to remove the purposely left, side bangs on my forehead away from my eyes
"Princess, I said I am sorry." He repeated when I was putting on another layer of red lipstick on my lips but his words halted my movement
"For?" I asked and finished painting my lips red while he finally looked away from me for a millisecond. You have a lot to apologise for. I wanted to add.
"I shouldn't have kissed you without your permission." He said in a soft voice and my breath got stuck in my throat while I froze on my spot
"It- it's ok." I stuttered while my whole body trembled with the unknown sensation running through it and I wore the jewellery kept on the platter.
"Princess, it won't be repeated ." He said and I bit my lower lip before I turned on my heels to look at him
"I said it's ok." I brushed past him to get my heels but he held my wrist
"You-" I was really getting frustrated but I am not that mannerless to just shout at him after he helped me"Rehaan, I also punched you. We are even and trust me I am not sorry. I warned you, you ignored and got punched as promised. It ended there.", I freed my hand from his hold and slipped my feet into my heels
"Thank you for helping me with the saree." I added looking into his eyes and he nodded. Am I being too harsh? I really don't care. I do, but he doesn't have to know that.
"Let's go." He walked out of the room and left me to overthink. Did I hurt him? God! Things were getting harsh on my conscience.
Rubbing a hand on my stomach before walked out with my mobile phone to find him waiting for me and I linked our arms together bringing him out of his reverie.
"You-"
"Look beautiful? I know." I looked away from his face to the way ahead as he led us downstairs and I bit back my own smile when I heard him chuckling. I hate him. I do!"Chachu!" I saw Riya jumping at Rehaan and tackling him in a hug, and it was my opportunity to step away from him
"Hi, new bride!" Jiya came beside me and I rolled my eyes
"Hi, bhabhi." I replied and saw her face morphing into something funnyIt's like a new routine where she greets me with terms such as bride-to-be now, new bride while I address her bhabhi-to-be and now bhabhi.
"I am just the same age as you." She hissed
"Your husband is older than me." I replied blinking rapidly and she scowled"So is yours. Did I say anything?" She asked and I gasped dramatically
"Who asked you to marry such an old man?" I asked in a softer whisper to which she snickered looking in the direction of her husband"It was an arranged marriage." She replied and I looked at her amused
"You? You. You, went for an arranged marriage?" It was an understatement if I said I was shocked.Jiya Kaur was a dreamer, a lover and most importantly a rebel. How did Dev Rajvansh manage to convince her for an arranged marriage?
"Yes, me." She laughed throwing her head back that got us unnecessary attention to which I slapped her on her arm
"Sorry." She muttered shifting closer to me and I shook my head amused
"You didn't change, not even a bit." I commented and she shrugged"You did. You are more beautiful and of course sharper than before." She complimented and I rolled my eyes but I didn't get the chance to keep the conversation going because his mother was coming closer to us
"Good morning, aunty." I greeted her and saw her eyebrows reaching new heights
"Rather call me maa, that's what she's gonna tell you and don't argue." I heard Jiya's soft whisper in my ear and I looked at her confused while her face showed how she had already gone through this phase of her marriage
"Rather call me maa." Mr. Rajvansh's words seemed to push the wrong buttons because the particular word was now foreign to my tongue
"Yeah?" She asked with a warm smile and I tried to smile at her
"Yeah." I muttered yet I couldn't get myself to call her maa or anything else. She's just so nice.
