Ayesha.

Nisha slept crying to me and I had no heart to wake her up, I slowly removed her jewellery and wiped her make up off in gentle movements so she doesn't wake up.

I unpinned her pallu from her shoulder and covered her with a duvet. I was displacing all the sharp objects when I heard a knock on the door.

"Nisha!" Veena aunty called and my eyes widened before I rushed to open the door and I stepped out clicking the door close behind me

"Masi, actually she slept." I told her but she was on a call
"Yeah, she's here." She spoke and my eyebrows furrowed but she frowned looking at the screen

"What's wrong with Rehaan?" She asked and it felt like my heart stopped beating at his mention

"Why, masi?" I clutched the hem of my pallu in anticipation
"Oh he called me asking for you but now he hung up." She said chuckling to herself but I knew it was anything but funny. He must've heard me.

"He called?" I asked while the slow winds through the windows around made me realise that I was sweating

"Yeah, he was pretty tensed. Did you not tell him before coming here?" She asked and I clutched my eyes close

"Don't worry masi, it's nothing. I just forgot to tell him that I reached." I told her and she smiled convinced

"Oh... How's Nisha?" She asked me looking down and I gulped
"Surviving." I told her and she took a sharp breath

"Good night. You must sleep." She said and left after I wished her too, if only she knew how long the night is going to be for me.

I slumped against the door behind me and my heartbeat raced in fear of facing him. Why didn't he call me? My eyebrows furrowed and I jolted ahead to look for my mobile phone but realisation dawned on me. I left it somewhere at home.

Blood rushed to my face and I felt more scared. This would have made him furious. He told me to at least carry my phone everywhere. Should I just stay back? No, he'll go crazy! But that saves me from his wrath. Temporarily.

My hand came up to cup my forehead and the other rested on my bare waist. What did I do?! Unleash the beast. Yeah, I am the dumbest person alive! He'll chew me raw and wouldn't even burp.

I went check on Nisha once again and ran to Pragya bhabhi for help, since I have lied to masi I cannot ask for it from her anymore.

She was dismissing the helpers with a sweet smile and a sweet box along with an envelope and I waited till she was done.

She turned around and her eyebrows furrowed when she saw me
"What did you do, now?" She asked me and I walked closer to her

"I made a blunder. A huge one!" I cried and she grabbed a tissue to wipe my forehead

"I can tell by looking at your sweaty form. But what?" She asked patting it on my forehead and I held her hand before I told her the edited version of my problem which didn't include the threat on my life and Nisha's suicidal call.
