"Stop thinking. Start doing." - UNKNOWN
PRESENT DAY
SKRAEL
"Skrael?!" Bellroc stands up from the couch, and Nari immediately runs into the room.
"What happened?!" she exclaims.
"Shut up, Nari!" I say, standing up.
Bellroc runs over to me. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Did you break anything?" She puts her hands on my face.
I shake my head and pull away.
"He's cut pretty bad," Nari says, standing at a distance from me and Bellroc.
"Yeah, I can see that Nari!" Bellroc snaps.
"Geez, I'm fine, woman!"
"Don't call me that! I'm your sister."
Nari taps her feet anxiously. "Can I cross? It looks pretty bad over there. There's a lot of glass."
"Glass?" Bellroc throws me aside and stands up to look at Phoenix, who, well, doesn't look like Phoenix. "Who's this?" She points her staff at the unconscious fairy.
I stare intently at her, expecting her to understand. Eventually, she does.
"Oh, my gosh, Skrael...what did you do?"
"Okay, I know this is her. The transformation is almost complete!"
"That's not what I'm mad about; I'm mad that you went on a full on rampage. Did you kill anybody?"
"No," I lied. She raises an eyebrow. "Okay, two people, but one was because of a traffic collision, and I gave an old hag a heart attack, but they'll probably resuscitate her."
"Why, Skrael?! WHY?!"
"What did I do? I got her back, didn't I? We're finally all together after your mistake. You did that!"
"I'm not talking about the spell, Skrael. I'm talking about this. You're always thinking-"
"-so? What's wrong with thinking?"
"You're not thinking with your head. You're acting on an impulse. What if isn't her? What if we just snagged some random person?"
"Then we'll erase her memory of us—me—and return her like it never happened."
"And the damage you just caused?"
"Hey, at least I don't act on impulse in a battle. What happened at Killahead was your fault. Those b*stard mortals would be under our control had you not decided to fight the Trollhunter by yourself. Did you ever think that if the four of us had gone against Deya together, you might still have your eyes."
Bellroc's hair is set aflame, and we stare each other in the eyes filled with hatred until Nari interrupts.
"Guys, she's beginning to wake up."
"Then make her fall asleep," Bellroc says.
"I don't control that stuff. That used to be Phoenix's job."
"I'll knock her out," I say, offering to use my staff.
"No, you've done enough. Go clean yourself up while I find a way to apologize to her for what you did."
"Still, the Battle of Killahead was your fault," I mutter, floating away.
