Seyi P.o.v

When we got off the plane, I noticed Osas... with a man.

He was more built than me. From the way he held her waist, I could tell she wasn't comfortable... or was it her boyfriend? After all, she never did tell me whether she was in a relationship or not.

I felt a hint of jealousy coursing through me.

You have a fiancé, Seyi. I reminded myself.

"The ride is here," Zina's voice interrupted my thoughts.

We headed for the black sedan car.

"Where are you headed, sir?" It was my driver.

"I'm hungry," Zina said.

"You ate on the plane," I stated.

"C'mon, babe... I'd love to try a Nigerian dish."

I sighed. I was a bit hungry too. I had built my company in Lagos, and that's where I presently resided.

The driver took us to a restaurant.

"When are we going to Abuja?" she asked as we waited for our food.

"Either next week or the week after."

"The week after? Why?"

"I have a lot of issues to address with my work."

It was then I realized she had never asked me about my work.

"You spend so much time on this work of yours."

"You make it sound like a bad thing."

"Well, it is. We came to Nigeria to see your par—"

"No. You came to Nigeria to see my parents. I came to see my company. There are two different things."

"You can be so unreasonable," she snapped.

"Zina, when I have addressed the issues with my company, we will both go to see my parents. But if you're so eager to go, I can send for the jet to drop you."

She hesitated, obviously deliberating. "When you're done with your work, we go," she finally said.

The food came, and we both fell into silence.

"It's nice," she said as she took the first bite.

I tried mine, and my taste buds longed for more.

After a few bites, I took time to study the restaurant. There were about twenty people there—it was already ten at night. And that's when my eyes fell on Osas.

She was with the guy from the airport. Were they following us? They both looked concentrated in their conversation.

"What are you looking at?" Zina asked, turning her face toward where I was staring.

"What is she doing here?"

"Eating," I said, glancing away.

"I know she's a popular chef and all, but—"

"It's a public place, Zina. Everyone has the right to eat here." I cut her short before she said something unreasonable.

"Guess she and her boyfriend are leaving," she said, emphasizing "boyfriend."

I watched them. He had his hand plastered on her shoulder, and they were both laughing.

The jealousy from earlier came back as I watched them leave the restaurant.

She didn't even notice us. Disappointment set in. Not that I liked her—I just enjoyed her company.
