Seyi P.O.V

I stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my waist. It was six in the morning, and I was getting ready to visit the company. I thought Zina was still asleep until her drowsy voice interrupted my thoughts.

"What are you doing?" she mumbled from the bed.

"I just had my bath."

"It's too early... Wait, are you going somewhere?"

"Yeah, work." I walked over to my wardrobe, selecting a corporate outfit.

"No, you're not. You promised that when we got to Nigeria, you'd take me sightseeing."

I sighed. She was right.

"The driver will take you," I suggested, hoping to ease her insistence.

"No, I want you." She was now sitting up, eyes wide awake.

"I really need to check the company since—"

"You have months to check it out, Seyi."

"Well, you have months to go sightseeing," I snapped, frustration bubbling up.

Must she always whine?

"Why are you like this, Seyi? Ever since we stepped on that plane, you've been... different. This isn't you." She stood up and walked over to me, gently placing her hands on my cheeks.

She was right. I wasn't always like this.

"Did I do something wrong?" Her voice cracked, and I saw the glistening tears in her eyes. Guilt twisted in my chest. Why was I treating her this way? I used to be loving and attentive, but now I had become cold.

I sighed. "No, you didn't." I took her hands from my face and held them. "I'm sorry. Work has been on my mind, but that's no excuse to take it out on you."

I kissed her softly. She deepened the kiss, and I didn't resist. After all, she was my fiancée.

When we pulled apart, she smiled. "So, you're taking me sightseeing?" She batted her eyelashes playfully.

"Anything for my fiancée," I murmured before kissing her again.

Work would have to wait.

Osas' P.O.V.

My eyes flickered open. A sharp pain shot through my right leg, making me groan loudly.

Where am I?

I glanced around. The sight before me sent shivers down my spine. It looked like a plane had crashed. Dead bodies, crushed and mangled, were scattered everywhere. My stomach churned.

I looked down at myself. Aside from the burning pain in my leg, I was... okay? I turned to the person beside me—his chest was punctured with a metal rod. The woman next to him had her head crushed.

I felt bile rise in my throat.

I fumbled with my seatbelt, unbuckling it. I tried to stand, but my legs buckled beneath me.

Broken.

"H-help..." a weak voice called out.

I froze.

"Who's there?" My voice was hoarse.

"H-help... me..."

The voice was familiar. I struggled to my feet, using the seats for support. Smoke clouded my vision, and my eyes burned with tears.

"Where are you?" I coughed, my lungs screaming.

"O-over here..."

I forced myself forward, ignoring the bodies in my path. And then I saw her.
