For the first time since facing the numbers, you didn't have a terrible dream.

You woke up wrapped in a blanket.

"Mmm," you hummed as you slowly sat up. You were at Kite's place.  You looked down at your hands they were mostly solid again. Well besides your fingertips

"Good you're awake."

You looked over and saw Kite.

"Yeah, how long was I out?" You asked as you slipped your legs off the couch.

"Not long, it's only seven," Kite said.

"Oh so not that bad," you yawned as you stretched your arms.

"Do you want some tea?" Kite asked.

"That'd be great, thanks," you nodded as you stood up. "Where'd Hart go?"

"Him and my father went out to get stuff for dinner," Kite said.

"I see," you nodded as you entered the kitchen with Kite. You watched as Kite grabbed a kettle, filled it with water and set it on the stove.

"So you ready?" Kite asked as he looked at you. It took you a second to realize what he was talking about.

"Yeah, I just have to confirm something real quick," you said as you left the kitchen. You grabbed your duel gazer off the table and pulled up the message 'Kite' had sent. "Was this you or Ninety?"

You showed him the message and watched as his face twisted into a look of horror.

"I-no- that wasn't me," Kite said.

You felt a weight lift off your shoulder.

"Alright that's all I needed to know," you sighed as you sat at the coffee table.

"Did you really think it was me?" Kite asked.

"I was very distraught... and in a bad place mentally... so I believed it," you sighed softly.

"Trust me, I will talk to you about things before I would even think about doing that," Kite said.

"I'm glad," you hummed.

Hiss!!!

The water was ready. Kite got up grabbed two cups and tea bags. He set them in front of you two and grabbed the kettle. He poured water into both your cups then set it back on the stove on the back burner.

"When you're ready," Kite said. You took in a deep breath.

"I didn't realize it at the time but it started at Master Roku's," you sighed and then went on to explain what's happened up to this point in time. Kite listened intently to each word you said. And when you had finished you looked at him with pain and guilt in your eyes. He looked like he was thinking on what to stay.

"I... it's a lot to take in," Kite said softly.

"I know, I know, and I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," you whispered," I just wanted you to be safe, but it seems no matter what I do I'll still cause you trouble."

"I just wish you would of talked to me about this. Knowing you, it was quite stressful wasn't it?" Kite questioned you as he sipped his tea.

"It was... but if Yokoshima and-" You sarted.

"We'll deal with them together," Kite said.

"Huh?" You gasped. Kite took a deep breath.

"I'm glad you told me what's going on... keeping it all to yourself is never good and when you do end up telling someone... I think it should be their choice on whether to stick around or not," Kite said.

"Yeah, Rio said something very similar...," you mumbled. Kite grabbed your hand.

"I know the risk of sticking with you, I know there is a chance of danger, and I'm willing to take that risk because in the end I don't want you getting hurt either," Kite said. You looked at him with tears in your eyes. Kite let go of your hand as he stood up walked around the table and hugged you tightly.

"I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble," you mumbled.

"It is okay, just know that I'm going to support you through your decisions," Kite hummed.

"Yeah but... but what about the numbers?" you asked as he pulled away.

"As today proved you can handle them... but I only want you dealing with them if absolutely necessary," Kite said, "and with Dark Mist with you I think the two of you can have each others' backs."

"You think we're hunting numbers for fun?" you asked as you raised your eyebrows. "But no... Dark Mist had been a big help. I guess it's kind of an exchange. We keep each other safe and since meeting Alito, I feel like we've both become stronger."

"Seems like it," Kite smiled as he kissed your forehead," Just keep yourself safe... please."

"I will I promise," You hugged him tightly," but you gotta do the same, got it?"

"Got it," Kite agreed as you pulled away. You looked up at him with a soft smile, "But I got one more question."

"What is it?" You asked.

"What do you plan on doing next?" Kite asked.

"What do I plan on doing next?" You echoed.

"Mmhm, do you plan to look for the Barians? Do you plan to stick by Yuma's side? But that puts you at risk of Yokoshima," Kite replied.

"Oh... uh... I... honestly I don't know... part of me wants to go after the Barians... but... I don't even know where to begin to look," you said, "but on the other hand I don't want to abandon Yuma... I have a gut feeling that I should keep an eye on him. Especially with Astral still around. And Yokoshima, I don't trust in the slightest. I think for now I'll stick around, but things can change."

"If this is what you'd like to do for now then I'm in full support," Kite said.

"Thank you, you really have no idea how much I appreciate it," you smiled.

"We're home!" Hart announced as you and Kite heard the front door open.

"Welcome back!" You greeted Hart as he entered the kitchen, Dr Faker followed slightly behind him.

"You're awake Y/n! Are you feeling any better?" Hart asked.

"A lot better," you nodded softly with a smile.

"Good! Good! We got stuff for stir fry!" Hart exclaimed.

"We did, you kids can go relax in the living I got dinner," Dr Faker ushered you three into the living room.

"So are you and Kite okay now?" Hart asked as he plopped down on the couch.

"Yeah, we talked things out," Kite said. You sat down next to Hart and Kite sat on the other side.

"I'm so glad!" Hart smiled. You and Kite both smiled at Hart.

You ended up spending the night at the Tenjo household.

Once you and Kite had settled into bed it seemed like he refused to let go of you. You didn't mind, falling asleep in his arms is all you could ask for right now.
