Chapter Five

CJ McCollum POV: telling my parents that I'm pregnant.

Portland, Oregon,
1:00pm,

CJ comes home from the practice as his parents came by to visit him. Somehow, he would give his parents a hug letting them know that everything is all good. However, CJ would explain to his parents that he was expecting a baby. "Mom? Dad? I have something to tell you," "Sure CJ, what is it?" CJ took a deep breath and started to tell his parents that he was pregnant. "Mom? Dad? I'm pregnant," He told his parents and his father became very upset.

"Christian James McCollum! How could you do this? You're only 22!" His father was furious. "You have a future ahead of you! How are you going to balance your time between being an athlete and taking care of the baby?" It got to the point that CJ couldn't hide it anymore. "Dad, I'm sorry I didn't mean to make that happen on purpose," "Well you're sorry that you ruined your life as an NBA player," He said angrily. "You need to think about what you've done," CJ was sobbing when his father got upset with him after he found out that his son was pregnant. His mother came to hug him and CJ told his mother that he was sorry. "I'm sorry mom, I really do. It was an accident, I didn't know any better," "Hey, hey, hey. It's okay, don't worry about it. I love kids and we will figure something out," The tensions had ceased when his mother heard that CJ was pregnant with the baby. Well of course! CJ's mother missed the little CJ that she played with when he and his brother were kids. After talking it out with his mother, CJ explained to Damian that his father was frustrated and he didn't know what to do. Yet, it was on the text conversations that He and Damian were having. Damian Lillard was at his friend's house for the night

To: Damian Lillard

- I told my parents that I was pregnant, but my dad became upset with me.

- CJ McCollum.

To: CJ McCollum

- Oh okay, but what happened? Why was your dad upset with you? Did your mom know anything about what happened?

- Damian Lillard

- yes he was because he didn't want me to get pregnant early, but my mom understands that there was nothing to worry about and she told me not to get stressed out about it. She said it was fine. We will figure something out.

- CJ McCollum

To: CJ McCollum

- I see and that's good. It's best to give your dad some time and I know he's been having the rough patch at the moment, so don't worry about it at all baby. Just get some rest, I'll see you later

- Anytime my love. Just go get some rest, we're going out to eat tonight. Otherwise, go watch some movies in your room, it'll cheer you up. I love you

CJ McCollum POV:

Since my father is upset with me after finding out that I was pregnant, I decided to go to my room to watch a movie on Netflix. At least my mom understands what I've been going through. I had a talk with my boyfriend and everything was fine. Anyways, I'm heading out with my boyfriend tonight for Dinner. However, I'm not sure if my mom is going to arrange a meeting with the midwife about the baby because I have to wait and see.
