Chapter 20 A smile

"Brother Blue, come on!" shouted Monti as he ran towards the river, "We're going to catch a fish today!" he shouted so loudly that Blue wondered.

His little feet knew exactly where they were rushing to and his finally resounding voice wanted to inform the whole forest.

Blue looked after him and smiled touched.

The peaceful sleep had done him good and his little body seemed activated again.

And, even though Blue could barely carry himself, he tried to run after Monti's shouts.

He felt so weak.

Yim's absence was on his every fibre and his soul bore the loss with all its might.

Blue just couldn't give his body the energy it needed.

And the aura of love flickered in wistful colours that day.

This, of course, did not escape the Son of the Blue Temple.

"Brother Blue, you seem pale this morning. Couldn't you find your warmth in the night?" the light looked straight into Blue's soul.

And Blue's wai was deep.

And Monk Saen saw the veil of the mundane in Blue's eyes.

Where love usually warmed everything, there was a void.

"Only we ourselves are able to fill the emptiness within us!" he put his hand on Blue's head,"Strive for yourself and you will find your warmth again!"

And Blue struggled to smile.

A smile that did not escape Yim's notice.

Why was this guy allowed to touch his Blue?

Make him smile?

Yim's eyes showed him shapes and colours he didn't like.

This unity between them.

This white, noble man in a blue sarong.

This light that emanated from him.

And gently settled on Blue's beautiful appearance.

This black hair that lay wavy over the soft contours of his face.

That smile.

Why was Blue smiling so beautifully?

Yim saw these two sons of the temple illuminate and warm each other.

And he averted his gaze again.

And the loneliness would show itself again.

He closed his eyes and leaned his head against the tree trunk.

How many times had he been alone?

How many times did he not even realise how lonely he was?

How unseen?

How cold?

And that feeling again showed his defensiveness.

Yim felt himself fill with that familiar anger.

All his cells were ready to be numbed.

And his gaze wore the darkness as he tried to find his focus again.

Triggered and jealous.
