Cora

I hear muffled noises coming from around me, although I managed to fall asleep, I'm still very much alert of my surroundings

I've been locked up here for a long while now, still don't know how long, probably three weeks or a month, I don't really know.

Dimitri has basically forgotten about me or he just doesn't care if I'm alive or still here, Vissarion still comes to check on me twice everyday, I've gotten used to the pattern now.

I get fed twice every week I guess, it's not much but I'm not dead yet.
I squint my eyes open to see where the noise is coming from and I'm met with two men standing in the basement with me

They are neither Vissarion nor Dimitri, making me wonder who they are, they're Russians for sure because they're speaking in Russia, in hushed tones.

I quickly sit up from my lying position, they're talking and pointing at me, the moment I stood up they stop pointing and stop talking, their voices die down as they both stare at me

I look closely and one of the men looks strangely familiar, I haven't seen him before but I'm sure he looks familiar, I try to rack my brain for where I've seen him but I come up with nothing.

The man is looking at me strangely and it's making me uncomfortable, he quickly dismisses the other man with a wave of his fingers before walking towards me.

He gets to me and bends down making me shift back a bit, he puts his hands up as if to say he means no harm.

"I'm not going to hurt you" he mutters out gently, I'm still looking at him wearily, since I've been here this the only time someone will be talking to me....gently.

"He tells me you've been here for approximately a month and a week" he says gesturing to the man that just left, my eyes widened when I realized how long I've been locked up here.

"I'm Ivan" he introduces himself, I don't know why tho but I just stare at him like he's a foreign entity.
"You don't have to be afraid of me, I'm not my cousin Cara" he says making me wonder who his cousin is and the fact that he also thinks I'm Cara.

Can't they tell the difference between us?
I scrunch my brows up in confusion, as if he can see my brain working he chuckles

"Dimitri is my cousin, apparently he's a bit twisted in the head and too traditional" he whispers out with a smile, I don't return it, I just keep staring.

Now I know why he looked familiar, he has the uncanny resemblance to Dimitri, but while Dimitri is more muscular, Ivan is a bit lanky and his eyes aren't green, rather they're hazel.

"You're quite silent compared to all the stories I've heard about you, although you look just as they describe but you act nothing like the vicious assassin I've heard about" he adds looking at me closely.

I'm not Cara, I'm not an assassin, but of course I can't tell him that, who knows, all this nice act might well... Just be an act.

"And you're nothing like all the people I've met since being here" I voice out, I don't even know I'm the one speaking until I see the smile tugging at his lips, he has amusement dancing in his eyes

"I guess we've both judged each other before getting to know each other Cara" he says with a smile "Not all Russians are... Well evil" he says with a chuckle

"And not all assassins are loud mouths" I nutter out, why the fuck am I suddenly talking, what is wrong with me.

I hear his rumbling laughter, it's not a wicked or empty laugh, it's actually a genuine one.
