"A mysterious criminal group is threatening to detonate a bomb somewhere in this city," Kunikida starts the meeting.
"Not only that, they've launched a smear campaign against our Agency."
"Sounds like we're caught between a rock and a hard place," Yosano comments.
"Do you have any helpful information about where the bomb might be?" she then asks.
"Not much," the blonde admits.
"Right now all we have to go on is the message left by the perpetrator. Here it is," he starts reading the message.
"Greetings. I hope that the Armed Detective Agency and its members are fair and well.
Forgive my impudence but I have placed a bomb capable of mass destruction in a certain location here in Yokohama.
Since you claim to be an Agency aimed at securing public safety, I request you locate and disarm the bomb as soon as you can.
You only have until sundown. I wish you the best of luck.
I have full faith in your abilities.
Respectfully, the Azure Messenger," he finishes reading the text.
That thing sounds stupid in my opinion.
Like, who places a bomb and is like:
'Oh, I know you can do it and that's exactly why I did it because I believe in you!'
Like, that's so goddamn stupid.
"Strange signature. Who is the Azure Messenger?" our boss finally asks.
"We don't know yet," Kunikida apologizes.
Wait a moment, where the hell is Dazai? And what about Ranpo?
Neither of them is here right now.
Come on, we have a bomb to locate and the best detectives aren't here?
That is just a misfortune.
"This bomb could ruin us. It's rigged specifically to make our team look bad," Yosano sighs.
"They're setting us up so if we fail his challenge, everyone will hold us responsible for the damages instead of them.
Our failure to stop the attack would spread like wildfire," the doctor finishes.
"The bomb could be anywhere. The office staff has been scouring the city for it, but there are too many possibilities," the woman standing behind Fukuzawa says.
Okay. I'm stupid. I can't remember her name. But she looks beautiful. So I give her that.
I think she's one of the assistants here.
"Hey, I bet Ranpo could help," Kenji raises his hand.
Yes. But he's not here at the moment.
"Have we had any luck getting in touch with him?" the blonde boy asks.
"It seems he's still busy with the case in Kyuushuu. I've asked him to contact us as soon as possible but we need leads right now," the girl answers him.
"Did you get any information from that taxi driver?" Fukuzawa opens his mouth again.
"Unfortunately no. He didn't have any knowledge of the bomb. I believe him. I don't think he's the type to try and blow up Yokohama," Kunikida explains.
Not the type? People can lie and act however they wish.
You can't judge the book by its cover.
"Okay then, listen up," Fukuzawa gets all of our attention.
