Part 12

Miss Mela: Not the best childhood, but our Becca turned out alright. 🥰Her work and her love life made her into the woman we see today so I shall tell you about those in this chapter.

Since they graduated top of their class from the same academy, Becca and Koi were set up as partners. For the first six years working as a police officer, Becca kept her head down. She did her job to the best of her abilities, took extra shifts, and made sure to rarely make any mistakes. In her 6th year as an officer, Becca decided she wanted the sergeant or lieutenant position. This had to be approved by her father who was captain at the time and by Frank, the chief of police. Frank loved her like the daughter he never had. He was the one who convinced Robert that Becca would be the best thing to happen to their police station.

That same year Oliver Shen was transferred from the police station in Phuket to their station. Robert had heard his name being mentioned in the constant emails from the police force. He was outstanding at his job and various police stations were fighting to have him on their team. Robert was the one who convinced him to join the Bangkok police station. Robert was his hero, so it didn't take much convincing for Oliver. Ever since he stepped foot in the station, Oliver and Becca fought for Robert's approval. They both wanted the lieutenant or sergeant position. If Becca became a sergeant, Oliver would be a lieutenant which is the rank above her, and vice versa. For two years, every single task they did turned into a competition on who achieved the best result.

After various discussions with Robert that were going nowhere, Frank decided to give Becca the lieutenant position and Oliver the sergeant position. Robert was not happy with the idea, but he couldn't say no to his captain. Robert didn't hate Becca, but he didn't like her either. He's her dad, but he never saw her as his kid, only a disturbance. Oliver took that to his advantage. Even if Becca was a rank above him, Robert only listened to Oliver's ideas. Becca tried not to let her emotions get the best of her, but she was tired of constantly having to fight for what was rightfully hers.

Around that time, The Artist had completed various robberies at the main art gallery. Frank's mission before he retired was to trap the thief, but he didn't succeed. The media and his superiors started suggesting that he was too old to do the job anymore, so Frank was forced to retire, and Robert was made the new chief of police. At the press conference held to celebrate the change in command, Dao Anurak dared to ask the question every other reporter didn't even attempt to ask.

Dao: Mr. Armstrong, now that you're the chief of police will you finally be able to catch The Artist and complete Frank's failed mission? The only sounds were of the city and the camera flashes.

Robert: Yes, Ms. Anurak. I will complete Frank's mission and bring The Artist to justice. Thank you for coming today. 

Catching The Artist seemed impossible. The main gallery where all the robberies were done was under constant surveillance with the highest technology available to avoid robberies, but The Artist always managed to fool the staff at the gallery and the police. Oliver was put in charge of handling The Artist's case. Becca suggested different approaches, but no one listened to her. She had had enough so she stopped trying to help Oliver.

A year after she became a lieutenant, Becca took a week off of work to relax and forget about Oliver, her dad, and The Artist. She decided to visit England and see the Harry Potter attractions. At one of the Mario Brothers studio tours, she met Tom Felton. She fangirled a LOT. The poor guy almost lost his hearing from all her screaming. After she made him sign all of her Harry Potter books, which of course she had brought, he asked her out on a date.

Becca: Me? He nodded. Tom Felton aka Draco Malfoy wants to go out with little old me... He started to question his decision when she did her happy dance.
