Part 30

I still can't believe you're the one running all of this operation. Becca and Engfa shook hands.

It's not an easy task, but I'll do anything to complete my mission. After Freen was sent to prison, Engfa called Becca to set up a meeting. This is my wife, Charlotte. She and Becca exchanged a look but didn't even bother to make a move towards each other. Look, we need to work together to get Freen out of prison so behave yourselves.

I can't speak for her, but I can control myself. Becca said. Charlotte just rolled her eyes and moved towards the bar to serve herself a drink.

Becca, please take a seat. Would you like anything to drink? Charlotte threw the whiskey bottle at the wall shattering it and walked upstairs. A couple of seconds later, Beauty came into the room to clean up the mess.

I still don't get what her problem is. Engfa sighed. 

Thanks, Beauty. Beauty bowed her head and left. Charlotte is not big on sharing and when she gets it into her head that something belongs to her, she's very possessive about it. 

Whatever. Why did you ask to meet with me? 

I'm getting Freen out of prison. 

How?! Becca looked at her hopeful. 

I have a plan. I do want to let you know this is not something that will happen over the next couple of days or weeks. We need to make sure nothing affects the course of the mission. 

I will do anything to get her out of there. She doesn't deserve this. 

I know. Let me explain everything to you so we can be on the same page. Becca nodded. 

So you're telling me all of the paintings and sculptures have been right under our noses the whole time? Engfa chuckled. 

Yes. We only borrowed them for a bit, but they are all back there in the evidence locker collecting dust. 

I'm not gonna lie, I feel very stupid right now. We're still exhausting resources over nothing. 

Don't worry. My plan also includes fixing that. 

What do you mean? 

It's time for The Source to come to an end. The level of poverty in Thailand is less than 10%. I can find a legal way to fix that. Charlotte and I have been thinking about putting an end to things for a while. Before Freen joined us, we almost stopped everything, but Nate convinced us to keep going a little longer.

Where is your son anyway? 

To be honest, I'm worried about him. He hasn't come home in days, but I have people following him and I know he's okay. 

I'm trying very hard not to look for him and make him pay for what he's done to Freen. 

Leave my son out of this. Charlotte came back. As his mothers, we will deal with him. Becca sighed.

Three months later 

I've made all of the arrangements for your move. Engfa sat down at the table to enjoy lunch with her wife and Becca. 

Good because I'm going crazy without work. The first two weeks were amazing and refreshing, but now I'm bored of doing nothing. 

Have you spent time with your mother after the divorce?
