Someone shook me awake when we made it back to London, and we made quick work of getting off the plane and into the rental car waiting for us.
I sat in the back seat, letting Lillian drive to her cousin's salon, as I rested my arm.
As requested Lillian's cousin had closed up the salon for the day, the blinds were shut and the closed sign was up for all to see.
Lillian knocked on the door, and once it was open, we all climbed inside closing the door behind us.
"I closed up early, now what do you want?" Sophia asked, with her arms crossed.
"Nice to see you again Sophia, how is your little boy doing? Zach isn't it?" I asked, sitting down in one of the chairs.
"Leave my family out of this. I told you all, I didn't want anything to do with you after what happened to Lachlan."
"Well you won't ever end up like Lachlan, Sophia, no one knows we are here. We just need a little cut and dye from you that's all. I'll pay you three thousand pounds for your troubles, then we'll be on our way." I said informing her.
"3000 pounds?!"
"Yes, I said that I would pay double, plus what you are missing out on being closed for us." I said, leaning back in the chair and closing my eyes.
"I'm the one getting the cut and dye." Alice said, walking over to Sophia and offering her hand. "My name is Carla Renkins." She said smiling.
"Sophia Gonalez, I'm Lillian's cousin. Let's get started shall we?" She said, leading Alice over to the chairs.
I winced as I got out of the chair to walk over to Lillian, while Alice and Sophia talked.
"Take the car and do what we discussed, be as fast as you can, we need an escape car if anything goes down." I said, before Lillian nodded and left the store.
"Ladies, I'll just be out back, I need to return some calls." I said, before walking out the buildings backdoor.
I called my bank management first.
"Hello?"
"Hi Carlos, it's Lexi."
"Oh, hey what can I do for you?" He said enthusiastically.
"I just wanted you to reassure me that there is a fortnightly payment going to the person we discussed." I said leaning my head against the brick wall.
"Yes, there is $10'000 a fortnight going to a Mia Toretto in Los Angeles, America." He confirmed.
When I first returned to London I had set up the payments with Carlos. I knew that the Toretto's money situation was bad, I just didn't know it was bad enough for Dom to feel the need to commit grand theft. With Dom, Vince and the others working in the garage and the cafe gone, most of the income that was being earned would go away, and the last thing that Mia needed to worry about was rushing to find employment.
She didn't need to know where the money was coming from, I just wanted to help her and I knew that this was the only valid way for the time being.
"Thank you, and is my pay from head office still coming in?" I asked out of curiosity. Sending Toby without informing me was one thing, but if they ceased paying me it would mean that they were getting ready to burn me.
"Yes, all looks fine. Should it not be?" He asked, sounding confused.
"No that's good to hear. Alright, thank you Carlos, keep up the great work." I said, hanging up the phone.
