I walked close to the wall, that way no-one could see me. Once I got to the elevator, I got in and pressed lobby, I took off my shoes climbed onto the handles and opened the escape slit at the top. I climbed in just as the doors opened and disappeared. There were a few seconds that went by before the guard walked in to find out what was going on. I took out my pocket knife and cut the blue wire that controlled the doors.

The doors closed and that was when I jumped on him knocking him out with the butt of his own gun. I then put my shoes back on and made the wires spark coursing the doors to open.

I jumped out with the shotgun at the ready first the guy at the stairwell then the guy at the doors. I whistled, and Alice opened the door to the stairwell.

We ran towards the doors and yanked them open. That was when a bullet came flying and hit me in the shoulder. I whirled around and shot the guy on the second floor, who was on his way to find Alice.  Alice grabbed a suitcase that sat near the door and we ran to the black BMW that I had driven here. I got into the driver's seat and pulled out my other gun. I handed the shotgun to Alice and sped out of there like the devil himself was following us.

"There are two options, Alice. I can find somewhere safe for you or you come with me. The first option may take longer." I said, peeking in my rear vision watching a car speed up behind us.

I overtook the cars in front of us and sped through a red light to get away.

"What? Come with you to London? Won't that endanger your case?"

"Alice, Owen adores me. I can make him see whatever I want. Anyway, you won't stay with me, and you won't step onto the compound. If you come with me I can find somewhere real safe for you and set you up. Grant has very little power in London and Owen has much more, one word to Owen and Grant would be dead before he made the decision to cross the water." I said already driving onto the airfield.

"You're really not giving me a choice, Lexi."

"Alice I've been shot, and I need to get inside the plane to the first aid crew. I can leave you here, but I'll have you know that there are two cars following behind us." I said, noticing another car join the race. Little did they know I grew up with street racers in L.A and I would smoke them.

I made it to the plane and climbed aboard, Alice followed close behind with her suitcase.

"We're leaving!" I yelled, collapsing in one of the chairs and taking off my coat.

"Lillian!" I yelled, shrugging my dress down and tried to pull my arm out of it. Alice helped and pulled my dress down to assess the gun wound.

"Don't touch it!" I snapped at her as she reached out her hand.

I knew that I shouldn't have when I saw her flinch.

I cleared my throat before speaking again.

"The last thing I need is for it to get infected." I said.

Alice sunk into the chair across from mine.

"What am I treating this time?" Lillian said running up to me, with sterile gloves carrying the first aid kit.
