I close me eyes and
open the doors I must,
Coated with cobwebs and
creaking with rust.
The walls are high,
shops are the old kind,
The view is alluring and
who knows what I might find?

With tears in my wake,
I keep going through the maze,
filled with broken dreams,
laced with cold craze.
Fearful foot fall on moist ground,
feeling afraid of every little sound,
Sits overhead a helpless crown,
teary gazes scared, fearing brown.

Such succession seems like a trial,
failure so bright,
Loved ones lost, at what cost?
If not a bloodied sight?
Finally at the end,
I find myself ,
so profound,
A fresh leap of faith,
over a new ground.
